Question about Cars & Trucks

2005 Dodge Ram 1500 4x2 - Drivers side front wheel feels like it is catching on something.

What could be causing my front driver side tire to be making a noise and slowing my truck down, even when going down a hill! The hub assembly for the wheel was replaced a few months ago. It almost feels like a brake pad is rubbing against the wheel when driving. It is decreasing my fuel mileage and slows the truck done noticeably.

Have you not looked over the brakes & even taken
things apart, looking for & eliminating brakes as an issue?
Checked drive axles,joints,etc.
Tires won't make a noise & brakes are not near the wheel,
to touch anything
New wheel hubs are ruined by mechanics obsessed with those
air driven impact guns, you need to use a torque wrench on the
axle nut of a new bearing

I have a 2005 ram 1500 4x4.when i put it four wheel drive high it feels like its in low and back tire on driver side skids

There's something seriously wrong in the transfer case or controls. It seems the rear driveshaft is locked up, and the front wheels are driving. The driver's side rear tire is skidding because it's trying to turn backward - rear passenger rear tire is going forward and rear differential has no option but to turn the driver tire in reverse (driveshaft locked). DON'T TRY TO DRIVE IT. Get it checked out and fixed.

Pulling front axle shafts on dodge

They pull right out when you get the knuckle off. Hardest part is getting there. Be sure to test the ball joints before you remove the tires. You may need some replaced.

Are dodge rams known for front end problems? my dodge ram on the right side tires are wearing a little more on the inside of the tire. would this also effect the 4 wheel drive if your off road

Have the front end checked out. There is a history of lower ball joint problems. It may also just be the alignment. It shouldn't have an effect on your 4wd unless the tires are of different sizes.
