Question about Dodge Spirit
I bought a cheap 1992 Dodge Spirit beginning of the month. The person I bought it from the a motor mount was broken, when i looked I didnt see anything wrong with any of em. When I start the car its fine, when I coast its fine but when I accelerate it shakes, the harder the acceleration the worse the shake (most times) any ideas ??
Check your motor mounts. Broken doesn't always mean "in Pieces". A motor mount is basically a shock absorber made of some type of rubber, held in place by a metal bracket.

first make sure its not in 4x4 and all wheels spin freely. it could be tire, but double ck the u-joints on the rear drive shaft. maybe rotate the tires front to back to see if makes a difference. i would also recommend making sure all running gear fluids are full. (transmission, transfercase, and differential.)

It sounds like you may have a problem feeding the fuel to your engine, I had the same problem with my 89 RS. All the 1989 model's fuel systems were recalled. I think you may need a new fuel pump. The fuel pump is located inside the gas tank in the rear of the car right under the rear axle. The fuel pump itself isn't too expensive, but with other small parts such as the electrical harness upgrade and fuel filter and the labor you should be looking somewhere in the $500 range. I hope this helps.
