Light does not turn on when door is opened

Fast flashing dash signals mean there is a bulb issue-DEFINATELY!

Identify the blown bulb. Note that if a headlight bulb has blown, the dip beam is on the outside and the high beam is on the inside. Turn off the ignition switch and light switches.

Open the hood and replace any blown headlight bulbs. Press the plastic spring clips and remove the bulb holder from the assembly. Pull the bulb out of the bulb holder and replace it with a new bulb. It only fits one way. Be sure not to touch the bulb's glass. Replace any parking lights at the same time, they are in the headlamp unit too.

Remove the front turn signal light unit in the bumper to change the turn signal bulb. Push gently on the inside edge and insert a blade between the bumper and the lens at the outside edge. Compress the spring and remove the lens. Fit a new lamp by inserting it into the plug. The side marker light is changed using a similar process.

Open the trunk to replace the rear fog light, stop light, tail light, reversing light and turn signal light. Remove the rear light cover and turn the bulb holder fastener 90 degrees counter clockwise. Remove the expired bulb, fit a new one and replace the parts, turning the bulb holder clockwise.

No u have to open your trunk,when u open it look down just behind the light u should see what looks like three or four big plastic wing nuts unscrew these and the whole light assembly will pull out so be careful not to drop it once u get this off the light to be changed should be on the back of the light assembly gently twist the bulb holder piece Counter Clock wise it should come out easy,pull old bulb out replace with new one ,turn the bulb holder clock wise to put back in,and reverse the steps putting the light assembly back just remember not to tighten the black wing nuts in the trunk to tight

Open the Back and unscrew the tail light screws on the inside of the door jam. The whole tail light assembly will come out. Twist the bulb socket counter clockwise, pull the bulb out. Place new bulb in the sockett, place sockett back in tail light and turn clockwise till it stops. Place tail light back in hole, put screws back in to door jam to hold tail light in.

OPEN REAR DOORS, REAR LIGHTS HAVE 2 TORX HEAD SCREWS IN VEHICLE DOOR HINGE AREA. REMOVE SCREWS, WIGGLE & PULL OUT ON LIGHT ASSEMBLY. THERE IS A 4 WIRES PLUGGED INTO THE LIGHT BOARD. UNPLUG & REMOVE 2 HEX HEAD SCREWS TO REMOVE BOARD & LIGHTS ASSEMBLY. IF A NEW BULB DOESN'T FIX THE PROBLEM, NEW BOARDS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE PARTS STORE.

Hi,
where the door hinges to the cab [ where it open and closes] there is a spring loaded button type plunger. This is spring loaded so when the door is closed the 'ground' is not able to connect. When the door is open the spring fully extends and makes contact with the ground wire. If all other interior lights are working most likely the problem is in or near this piece. First check to see if when you manually turn on the overhead light and or other interior lights that the others do indeed work and the dome light doesn't. If this is the case check where the bulb went in FIRST - pull the new bulb our and inspect CLOSELY that the unit is also working properly - there is a small spring here too that makes sure the bulb is making good contact.
Between these two [ if all other lights are working] you should get some light on the subject.

Maybe check to see if your button next to your headlights switched is pushed in or out?

Do you know if the brake light bulbs are working? (are the bulbs good?). (the bulbs have two parts, one for brake lights the other for running lights)
If the third brake light bulb is working the brake lights should be with good light bulbs.
