Question about 2000 Daewoo Leganza
My daewoo started and ran fine as I dropped my son off at school. As soon as i tried to restart my car to head home it would not start. It cranked but wouldn't catch power. What can cause that?
Hard starting, cranking 3 times to start, engine lite finally came on---
1. shows problem with coil--changed
2. problem with O2 in block--- changed.
3. did a fuel pressure check on original pump--- replaced with new fuel pump
3000 miles later had same problems did a fuel pump pressure test again and it would not hold pressure.
upon removing 3000 mile pump it was hot to the touch so it must have burnt out.
just installed another new one (12000 miles/ 1 year warantee)

plugs new? fuel filter new? check fuel delivery to a jar. 500ml in ten sec. is good i recon but specs are better from manual, dont burn yourself gas burns quickly. if pump delivers well then the filter needs to be changed or injectors need cleaning. also check air filter and throttle throat for dirt.

is the car is idling o.k between 750-850 rpm, before you pull away? if it isn't then check your plugs injectors idle control. if it is but the car move's slowly away and you are using high revs it could be a slipping clutch or if automatic transmission worn bands or torq converter. also check for breaks binding.

Usually this is because the carburettor dries out and there is a needle and seat (internal on carby) that can get stuck and not let fuel in. Usually from a little dust water and general **** that comes with the fuel. Id spray the carby out with carby cleaner, remove the fuel line from it and spray out the fuel bowl. Possibly even open up the carby and completely clean it, but only if you are confident on putting it back together. But try just spraying it and cleaning it first, then tip probably a quarter (1/4) of a cup of petrol in the hole in the carby and try starting it, this should make it run. Maybe a little rough at first, but you may need to clean the carby a couple of times, and will need to pump fresh fuel from the tank. So good luck and hope it helps.

Engine starts immediately, but it loose acceleration in few minutes. It does not move even if you press accelerator. Can anyone suggest what sould I do?

You may need a new fuel filter. When you start the engine all the particles in the filter begin to dam up until they choke off the fuel entirely. When the engine dies the particles fall back down allowing enough fuel flow to start the engine and the whole pocess repeats itself. Thanks, Dana
