SOURCE: What does code fault P1384

DTC P1384 is VVT (Variable Valve Timing) Solenoid A malfunction

also Glow Plug Circuit malfunction.

I used to test heaters across a battery like you may have done from the above, but that only proves they glow, it does not prove the system functions correctly. A good way is to check the resistance of each plug first, which should be around 0.1 Ohm each, this ensures with the correct voltage supply they will each draw 120A. High resistance will impear their function some what. Starting may not be impeared like the old days?

Measure the current draw through the circuit when all components are installed and connected, compare against recommended data. Based on above one knows that initially 480A should be drawn through the circuit. The second part to your question, are they heating all the time?
Modern heater systems have an after glow period which is quite normal, so they are not just used to start an engine in very cold conditions anymore with modern vehicles.

When we had problems with Vauxhall systems we used to change all plugs and relay at same time. Other owners comment about have the solution to the problem, next to a glow plug control unit was also defective. Strangely, although more moderately ohms measured, but little compared to the others. Be that as he was running normally again.

Hope this helps

How do I fix code 13 engine speed sensor Above 1000 rpm

Clearing the codes is simple that is done by removing the fuse of the EFI from junction box 2 for 10 seconds. Make sure to remove the jumper wire and switch the key off before clearing the codes.

Here are some common Lexus vehicles 1990-1995 codes:

Code 12 and Code 13 Rpm signal circuit fault
Code 14 Igniter signal circuit fault
Code 16 ECT control signal fault
Code 21 and Code 28 Main oxygen sensor fault (for ES300; SC300 & GS300 models)
Code 22 Coolant temperature circuit fault
Code 24 Intake temperature sensor circuit fault
Code 25 and Code 26 Air fuel ratio fault (for ES300 & SC300 models)
Code 27 Sub-oxygen sensor circuit fault (for ES300 CA & GS300 models)
Code 31 Low airflow meter voltage (for ES300 and GS300 models)
Code 32 High airflow meter voltage (for ES300 model)
Code 35 Barometric pressure sensor circuit fault (for GS300 & SC300 models)
Code 41 and Code 47 Throttle position sensor circuit fault
Code 42 Vehicle speed sensor circuit fault
Code 43 Starter signal
Code 51 Switch condition signal fault (for ES300; GS300 & SC300 models)
Code 52 Code 52 and Code 55 Knock sensor circuit fault
Code 71 EGR system circuit fault (for ES300; GS300 & SC300 models)

My 2004 jaguar will not start gives me the following codes P1611, P1396, P1384, P0405

I can tell you upfront you must check your variable valve timing solenoids..codes p1396 and 1384 as for code po197/198 thats your engine oil temp sensor.po102 check your mass air flow meter connection right behind the air filter housing where the air duct elbow is located. The sensor could be bad.p0112 intake air temp sensor code.ok the p1224 is the throttle postion control sensor.make sure your battery is good...seems like these codes are related to low voltage also...but 1st make sure your fix that oil leak.

HI,
Strongly suggest taking to the dealer as it should still be under warranty.

Code info I googled:

OBD II Fault Code P1F68 :Description of OBD II Fault code P1F68

TH2TNK Sensor Value Offset Shifting
Possible failuer of OBD II Fault code P1F68

  • Hydrogen Tank Internal Temperature Sensor (TH2TNK) offset shifting

Error code p1384 and 1396

Hi there:DTC P1386 - VARIABLE CAM TIMING OVERADVANCED

Possible Causes:
- Bank 2 VVT solenoid valve to PCM PWM drive circuit fault.
- Bank 2 VVT actuator oil supply fault.
- Bank 2 VVT actuator stuck.

The biggest issues with vvts are oil supply issues. Useally debris like oil sludge in oil pickup screen, loose bearing clearances as an engine wears, and oil passages blocked/partially blocked to and in vvts. The first (i always shoot for cheapest potential likely fix) use a good engine flush(2 bottle for our higher than normal capacity engines) follow directions on bottle. Change oil and switch to a 20-50w. Leave out 1 quart and add 1 qt auto ****** atf(highly detergent, more so than engine oil and wont hurt anything) while you have overly ******** cam codes, it may be an issue of apply and blockage that keeps pressure in vvts too long when supposed to release. Most times its ******** cams( like the 1 i am doing right now....try this first and go from there, rememebr to clears codes and give time, you may have to clear codes a few times as it may continue to reset.

DTC P1396 - VVT Solenoid Malfunction - (B bank)

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Truck will be running fine, then all of a sudden it will completely shut off. After we wait a few minutes and pump the clutch and make sure it is all the way to the floor it will start, sometimes. S

You need the engine computer scanned for fault codes, i thank you have an ignition control problem like a module or distributor pickup coil issue. These parts whenthey fail should leave fault cdes so get them read.
Next, the check engine light will pause shortly followed by the second digit of the trouble code. For example if the check engine light blinks once and pauses followed by six blinks the trouble code number would be 16. If no code is present the check engine light will stay one constantly. To restart code gathering turn the ignition key to the "off" position, wait three minutes and turn the ignition key back "on" again without starting the engine. Remove the jumper wire once code gathering is complete. To clear code after the repairs have been made remove the negative battery cable for one minute and reconnect.
