Video circuit is separate from the Audio circuit. The main controller may switch to Audio, but if the unit is damaged from a power outage; part of the circuit board may not function. Needs professional servicing.

I don't know how to fit a gme psk08 power supply and power injector from the wall socket to the tv. Everything works out except the plug in to the amplifier

You can easily get the support connection pin socket to match the RF input to the TV as it will be best to get the ampifier to the nearest spares store so as to find the mating pin.

Polaroid LCD tv DVD combo no power problem is it capacitors ?

Hi Tom, The switch mode supplies in these TV's are an issue. The high frequency transformers do give trouble as do the opto isolators. I would be checking the electro's first with a capacitance meter, they can fail but not bulge the tops!! Check ALL the solder joints that you can with a magnifying glass if you can get one. If nothing shows up there, all you can do is go through each component one at a time and check it's value. The controller chip, transformer and opto are difficult to check so if all else fails, suspect them. The transformer can be checked with a shorted turns tester if available. Also, remove the transformer from the board and carefully check each winding at the pins as they also have a tendency to break the winding at the pin due to thermal stress.. Have fun..

You are not the only one I can tell you that. I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.

Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors. Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected due to these defective capacitors.
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.

Hope this helps

Turn the tv on, 1-2sec's l8r it turns off

sounds like the TV has a damaged power supply, most like caused by a bad capacitor on the power board, the capacitor exploded and leaked all the gases which stores electricity, so the power board isn't getting enough flow of electricity for the tv to stay on, very easy fix if you know what to do and have good soldering skills.

Disconnect power antena

I just removed the motor for the power antena and pulled a regular one from a junk yard. Very simple brackets, a couple of bolts each. With the cable, it is just a coaxial like your tv cable from the cable company, I just split it and put the same connector as I would the tv cable on each end, then I put a double female connector in the middle.
Hope that's clear enough.
have fun with it.
