To remove the oil filter on a diesel you remove the cover from the top of the engine and you should see a plastic cylinder in the centre of the engine with a 30mm hex nut moulded on to the top of it. Simply unsrew it and pull the filter out.
Petrol engine you remove the undertray of the underside and you should see a white metal filter by the sump. Unscrew

Switch off engine and it will reset as mine has done. Also my XF, got stuck in park and would not move with engine on. Remembered what I did with my first car ( Austin seven ruby) and got out and rocked the car front and back and the control knob just popped up. Am in Spain with my XF so am still worried about the sticking of the control knob problem.Have to get home at end of the month to UK and will wait until my return before contacting the email@example.com

possible 2 ways, One is by the drivers knee left side there is a release,, but most Jags you just push on the door and it springs open, push quickly on the right side of the door
