Question about 2006 Hyundai Sonata 2.4
The dash lights (ABS, seatbelt, battery) started to randomly flash recently, and only on occasion, while driving. Today, the battery light went on and remained, followed by the seatbelt light, which also remained on (seatbelt was attached). The radio then went off, too. I stopped, but couldn't restart (just one crank, then nothing). I tested battery, then replaced (for first time). Car started with no problem again, but the flashing lights started again. When on the interstate, the occasional flashes stopped - but when I first came to a stop, it started again (while using a/c, radio and headlights). Is the alternator, or something else?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

It sounds like your battery is not charging. You may have a good battery and a good alternator but what you need to look for is the alternator fuse . It is usually a square block style fuse , 50 to 80 amps, normally in a fuse box under the dash. If it blows the car will drive till it runs out of battery juice and go bonkers just like you describe right before it dies. The charge light on the dash usually will not warn you of the problem. I think the manufacturers just want to charge you big dollars just to replace a fuse most people are not familiar with.
