What causes high idling and idle surges

That is most commonly caused by a vacuum leak, but can also be caused by a cam or crank sensor, throttle position sensor, map or maf sensor,
if you have a check engine light on, that most likely will tell you your problem, if not, check all your vacuum hoses, brake booster, and egr valve, they are the most common places to find vacuum leaks

Nissan codes po400 and po328

EGR inop, check the BPTV hose. this valve is located next to the EGR and the hose to check is a small vacuum type hose under the valve going to a metal pipe. This is not vacuum hose (vacuum hose will burn) so you will have to get it from Nissan if it is faulty. Also check to see it the EGR moves when revving engine,if it does the EGR ports are plugged and need to be clean (not for the novice)
