You can replace this hose alone but check all rubber fuel lines for cracks.

pcv cracked? The spark plugs are installed into the top of the head.
Replace cracked or dry rotted hose or the gromit for the crank case pressure valve, this should return through a line to the intake. Good luck

SOURCE: fuel tank vent valve?

If it`s the one on top of the tank then yes it can be replaced without replacing the whole tank.In order to remove it you have to push down and counter clockwise.If you can`t get one at the dealer then go to the salvage yard and take one off a tank there.If it comes off you could get s check engine light.Good luck.

SOURCE: Recently got a new fuel pump installed on my 89

take it to the mechanic who put the pump in and tell him to fix it....
Theres a return line and a vent line ...that will cause an odor if disconnected... These should have been delt with as a fuel pump replacement issue... and should be covered by the installation tech who did the job.

Gas seems to be coming from the top of plastic gas tank and running down the left side of the tank and dripping on the ground

I know it sounds a bit difficult but fuel leaking is serious danger so with this id siphon tank dry (don't use a drill pump ) and undo fasteners and hoses/wires that hold it too truck , lowering it to ground , a carefull inspection of approx. area of leak will tell the problem , your looking for cracks in plastic or rubber hoses , these might be very small and fine look closely
if cracks are in the tank , unless you know someone with a ultrasonic welder id replace the tank

Half inch rubber hose (although it seems solid) is hanging down from the rear end. Looks like it originates above the fuel tank. Any idea what this could be?

hi this could be the breather hose for the tank, it may seem solid due to the fuel makes it brittle they normally ride at the side of the tank if the fixing for it has rusted or simply broken it should not effect the running or your vehicle unless it gets clogged with dirt then it will pressurise's the tank and could cause fuel flow problems, your best bet would be to undo the straps that hold the tank on and lower it slightly and see....hope this helps

How do you replace the fuel filter in a 2003 Dodge Durango easiest way?

It is located on TOP of the tank. You will have to drop the tank, pull the filter/pressure regulator out of the rubber grommet on the top of the sending unit, and replace it with a new one. You will have to cut the old clamp off if no one has done it before, and replace it with a GOOD band type fuel injection hose clamp, not the cheap screw type ones that cut into the hose.

Its stuck and willnot drop down I removed the strapes and have a jack under it it will not come down I tryed prying on it but it will not buddge

What is stuck? The Fuel Tank? If it is the fuel tank you have to loosen the filler neck hose. It is a hard rubber hose with a clamp on it. There are also up to 4 other steel lines or steel with rubber lines that go to the top of the tank. Hope there is only a little fuel in it!!!

Hole in the smog line that leads across the gas tank.

You should be able to put a piece of rubber fuel line over the section with a hole, clamp both ends. If it's hard to get to, run a long piece of rubber fuel line (inside diameter big enough to fit over smog line), cut the original smog line, attach new rubber fuel line over cut section, wiggle it over the tank to other side where you can cut original line again, and attach both ends with hose clamps. Let me know how it goes, it should work, you can even go around the tank front or back, just make sure you use zip ties or something to keep the hose from hanging down.

How do you replace the fuel pump on 2003 extend cab silverado

Hello;
The fuel pump is in the tank connected to the sending unit assembly. First drain the tank. Unfasten the hose clamps to the fill and vent hoses. Unfasten the hoses that attach to the sender. Unbolt the tank and lower to ground. Blow off the area where the sender is and take the retaining ring off. Pull the unit out and replace with the new unit.
Install is in the reverse order.
Note: I recommend you replace with the complete sending unit pump assembly rather than just the pump.
Thanks;

2003 Silverado I bang on the gas tank and it starts but dies off after awhile. Checked the fuel pump, need to know how to change the electric fuel pump. There is 3 fuel lines that I need to know how to...

Just adding to the previous solution... When replacing the fuel pump, it make the job a lot easier to just pull the truck bed off. There are 6 bolts holding it on from underneath (also remove the gas cap screws) and it will lift off the frame. The bolts are very easy to reach with a 6 inch extension as long as you don't have duel exhaust in which case you will need a knuckle. Once the bed is off...you have free and easy access to the top of the fuel tank and pump. Use a brass punch to remove the retaining ring on top of the fuel tank. (a pump replacement kit can be rented at most auto parts stores).
