White smoke from the exhaust is usually a sign that the head gasket has failed. But, it could be an oil system failure in the Turbo cooling system. It would help to know the engine and fuel type in your Patrol(They make so many different models, and they aren't all the same)

SOURCE: I have recently bought a 1999 Nissan Patrol -

with out a doubt it is over fueling ,should be a small amount on heavey acceleration,on startup the is an overinjection feature to aid starting,If you go to a deisel injectionservice centre they can cut the fuel back .In the worst case scenario you may need the injectors serviced and unless it has doneone hell of a lot of miles the pump shouldnt need any more than adjustment. One thing you need to be aware of is they must have clean fuel , no skimping on filters---------happy motoring

WHAT COULD THE REASON BE FOR SUMP PRESSURE AND OIL BLOWING OUT AT THE DIPSTICK?

Blowby, Do you have a lot of blowby? with warm engine at idle, remove oil fill cap, is it puffing out smoke?

Check your oil pressure, or maybe a gasket issue?

Nissan 1.5dci blowing white smoke from exhaust but no loss of power

White smoke could be steam check for loss of coolant, if so have the cooling system pressure tested, may have a faulty head gasket, or warped head.

Crankcase pressure

At IDLE the PCV does not open very much and therefore there may not be a vacuum under the valve cover.. maybe a couple psi. Try holding your hand over it and increase the idle? Does the air stop or reverse? (as you increase engine speed, the vac in the intake manifold increases and opens the PCV more so it will pull more gases out.) If so, I'm thinking you're OK. If your rings were really bad and you were getting lots of blow by you'd probably be seeing a Check Engine light (and other problems), and the air coming out would have smoke/oil vapor in it. No oil in the air cleaner? If 'no', then again, probably not excessive blowby. If I get a chance tomorrow, I'll check mine and get back to you how much is coming out of mine. Is it running OK otherwise?

96 detroit,200thousand on inframe. never had overhead run. leaks oil thru blowby hose

If you have excessive blow by and the oil is coming out then I would consider it time to replace the motor or have it professionally rebuilt as you have piston /ring bore wear problems.

Almeria 2.2 dci white smoke

White smoke from the exhaust indicates engine coolant entering the cylinders; usually caused by a blown head gasket or a cracked head. Continuing to run the engine will allow coolant to go through the engine internals and destroy them.
