Trace the wire and look for a dead short. check the unit the wire goes to for failure and internal short

2000 JIMMY 4.3 WONT START AND KEEP BLOWING MAIN 40AMP FUSESE


What all does that fused supply B+ voltage too ? Do you know ? That would be your first thing to find out ! Do you know what a electrical distribution diagram is ? Do you know how to test electrical circuits with a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter ? Do you know what a short to ground is ?
Which fuse ? IGN A - 40 amp ,under hood fuse / relay box ? This fuse powers the Starter Relay and Ignition and Start Switch
Does your vehicle have a manual or automatic transmission ? The starter relay could be shorted inside , It's also located in the under hood fuse box . If you pull the relay out of the box it's plugged into an look on the bottom of it you would see four sets of numbers ! 30 & 87 an 85 & 86 . If you were to jump 30 to 87 in the relay box the starter should spin the engine over , not start an run just spin ! 85 & 86 is the control side . Could be the ignition switch !
That 40amp fuse powers a lot of subsystems !

You will see Ign A 40 amp fuse at the top of the page .you will also see it powers the igintion switch ,look at last part of ignition switch , when in start or run that 40 amp fuse powers all those other fuse's plus three relays i see there also . A/C compressor relay , rear window defroster relay ,daytime running lights . Any one of those circuits could have your short . You need to isolate the circuits , pull fuse's till the fuse doesn't blow !

No power to a/c compressor


A/C compressor clutch relay in the under hood fuse box . Check fuse F1.105 30 amp under hood fuse box . Also check fuse F2.14 7.5 amp location central junction box Central Junction Box (CJB) (14A068)
under dash panel, LH side, bottom .

  • The air conditioning (A/C) is inoperative/does not operate correctly
  • Open fuse.
  • A/C clutch relay.
  • Circuitry short or open.
  • A/C low charge protection switch.
  • A/C system discharged or low charge.
  • A/C compressor clutch.
  • A/C evaporator discharge air temperature sensor.
  • A/C pressure sensor.
  • DATC module
  • PCM
  • Go To Pinpoint Test K .

St191 30 amp am2 circuit keeps blowing


I suspect you have a short somewhere between the ignition switch and the instrument panel fuse block. Here is what you can do. Unplug the igntion switch connector. Remove the ST fuse and the IGN fuse. Connect a test light to the POSITIVE side of the battery, Probe pin 3, black with white wire and pin 4, red wire at the ignition switch connector. If the test light illuminates that wire is shorted to ground somewhere between the switch and the fuse block.

you may have a short (verify the integrity of the insulation of the positive wire from that fuse going to the rear window defroster, check the relay & switch.) try to replace the relay.

Fuse keeps blowing on a/c on 2001 dodge truck


Let's break this down.
1 Does the fuse blow when the heater is on, or just the AC?
Yes- Fan motor problem likely need new blower motor.
No- 2
2 Disconnect the AC compressor clutch wire. Remove the blown AC fuse, connect a multimeter across the sockets for the fuse, measure DC voltage across the two sockets with the AC switch, and Ignition switch ON. Is Battery voltage present?
Yes- The wiring harness has a short between the output of the AC switch and ground, likely a pinched harness.
No- The AC compressor clutch is shorted. Replace either the whole compressor or the clutch.

I got a rav4 2007 and its blown the fuse of the power windows i replace it 4 times and the fuse i change is of the same type 30 AMP did i have to change with other of more AMP?


The 30A PWR fuse connects power directly to the driver's side power window switch a short in the switch or any of the power window regulator motor circuits could cause the PWR fuse to keep blowing

Keeps blowing the starter fues


Hi, if you're talking about the 10 amp fuse #12, pull out the starter relay and put in a fresh fuse. Try to start the truck and then check the fuse. If the fuse is OK, get a new starter relay. If the fuse burned without the relay, there is a short between the ignition switch and the starter relay. If you have a manual transmission, you can further isolate the short by pulling the connector off the switch above the clutch pedal. Put another fuse in and try again. If the fuse burns, the short is between the ignition switch and the clutch switch. If not, it's between the clutch switch and the starter relay. Electrical problem


When you are disconnecting the low pressure switch, or high pressure switch, you are stopping the power going to the A/C clutch. So, that means that your A/C clutch is shorted out. Unplug the compressor, and see if the fuse blows.If it doesn't you need a new clutch or compressor.
