Pull the cap and look at the connector on the inside, they like to go gooey.
Also more than once I have had modules "tested" that said good only to find out' they were bad.

Check all connections are clean, and that battery is charged - and holding charge. If it is more than 3 yrs old- suspect it.

Try it after cleaning and charging battery.

If still no-go, look for any connections from distributor to ECU. They can run without connection, so try without it. If it fires up - problem lies with the ECU inhibiting the distributor.

Check that all leads are open circuit - and not shorting or providing a current leak.

Hoe this helps.

SOURCE: 94 toyota camery no spark

I had the same problem recently but replacing the ignition Coil under the distributor (inside) solved the problem. Also replaced the distributor Cap and rotor at the same time.

SOURCE: engine died & wont start no spark ignition coil tested good

try your ignition module in the distributor much more likely. just install rebuilt distributor if that is the problem , if you just replace module the main distributor assem will **** out shortly after.
Make sure you check for broken timing belt also it is one of those two!

SOURCE: i have a 2003 chevy S10 4.3L with an EDI ignition

Well if the coil is good, the only thing it could be is the lead from the coil to the distributor cap, Take the lead out of the cap and place it on the engine block somewhere, But do not hold it on there whilst the key is turned, Get a friend to watch for a spark as you turn the key, if it sparks, There is something wrong with you distributor cap, if it doesn't spark then you could have problems with the electronic ingition

How do I test the igniter on 1996 corolla 4afe motor

Start the car and lift up the coil inserts from the spark plugs one by one. By doing so if the engine does not stall that cylinder has a problem. The problem may be due to the defective igniter, fuel injector, high tension cord, weak cylinder compression or a distributor assembly. Some models have distributor less ignition system.
To check the igniter check the 12V at the input lead which is entering the igniter amplifier in the distributor and the output voltage at the spark plug wire. If it is so the igniter is ok. If it is not starting at all or is giving intermittent problem, replace the distributor assembly.

Before you could proceed please ensure that the following sub assemblies in good working condition:
- Battery health and it specific gravity.
- Alternator assembly.
- Starter motor assembly.
- Make sure that battery to engine ground thick cable is neat and firm.
- Check battery to chassis/body ground connection.
If the problem persists, check the following:
- Valve clearance.
- Distributor cap and rotor for any crack or corrosion.
- Ignition coil in the distributor assembly.
- Ignition module in the distributor assembly.
- Distributor assembly.
Hope that works.

89 corolla wont start after replacing distributor

may be coils are damaged or there is corrosion in the distributor...the arm in the distributor might not be touching the metal for each coil and could not deliver current...

No spark to plugs - toyota 1995 corolla

If there is no spark at all, the problem likely lies in primary circuit of the ignition system. Check the following:-
- Battery health.
- Ignition fuse located in under the dash, finish panel on driver's side.
- Ignition distributor assembly. (Ignition module, ignition coil)
- Ignition switch assembly.
- Security system, if any.

New plugs, new wires, new caps, new rotor, new distributor, still no fire to spark plugs

Check the wiring. You may have a loose wire for the ground or a bad ignition coil.

Car is not getting spark

check your fuses first
check your ignition coil for burn or crack
if not then replace the whole distributor, because the distributor has a life time warranty.
if you buy the igniter and the coil separate it will end up cost you more and you don't have good warranty

Just purchased 1989 toyota coralla for 400 bucks. not running. ive isolated the problem. no spark at the plugs. what might cause this?

Sometimes its difficult to tell what the problem is and wish I was there to diagnose it for you but i will give you some ideas. If it has a distributor check the components cap and rotor also check to see if you have spark at the coil. Some have what is called an ignition spark module which will cause this if its bad you will get a no spark situation. Also your crank sensor check it.
