Question about 1996 Chevrolet Corsica
The car will not move when in any gear. Can not push it either..Was told that the front axle may be broken. How do I remove it?
I question the statement that the axle may be broken and that you cannot push it either. If there is an axle problem then you would be able to push it as there would be nothing to stop it from moving as it won't now in any gear Look some where else like the park brake stuck on ( not being able to push it) or the auto stuck in park or the brakes stuck on. If auto check flexi plate is ok at torque converter and there is oil in the gear box. If manual check that the clutch is engaging and not being held off by a faulty master cylinder

SOURCE: Front axle on 94 Chevy 1500 4x4
Well first you need a floor jack to put under bottom a-frame, then unhook shock from bottom a-frame or take off completely its up to you, unhook sway bar from bottom a- frame, and remove caliber off rotor and hang it off to the side, when all thats done you will have to pop the bottom ball joint, then you can put in new axel. Should not take more than 2 hours to do.

ur computer probably wont show anything ur tranny problem can be anything fron needing a filter changed to vacuum problem to torque converter check the fluid for level if low fill up- before filling look and smell fluid it should be reddish in color not brownish [fluid burnt]if it smells burnt- need trans service can be just a filter and flush ,bad sensor-actuator or rebuild
