Find out what the codes refer to and replace them. have the cpu reset correctly and if you have covered the fault the engine light will go out. The engine light is telling you that the CPU has found sensor/s outside set parameters during the checking process

You shouldn't have anything to worry about. A loose gas cap will throw a check engine code in most newer vehicles. As long as you tightened it up, you are fine. The light sjould go off on it's own before your next refill, but if it doesn't take your car to an Advance or Autozone and they will clear the code for you for free. There is no danger in driving your car with the light on for this trouble code. Have a great day.

take it to an advanced auto let them run a diagnostic code on it then let me know what it is and ill tell you the possible problems

Check engine light came on today and all fluids look okay what is next


MIL or "check engine" light will come on when a sensor detects an issue or is malfunctioning. You will need to have the codes pulled to determine the cause.

Check engine light is steadily on but car runs fine


That may be so, but something is wrong. Get the codes pulled and you will know where to go next....ANY failure can trigger a light indication, but not all failures are noticable in terms of performance. It needs to be fixed.

When turn ignition on engine light goes on and stays on. Pulled our PVC value and my neighbor sprayed something on it and put it back in. Started ignition and light went off for one day. Next day engine...


well by the sounds of it you may have a stuck pcv valve and it is causing a vacuum leak. the computer see's that and turns the light on the make you aware it has an issue.

now the best thing to do is go to auto zone and have them scan it with there computer. they do this for free and see what code you have and if it is related to a system lean bank or 02 sensor code and you will be on the right track because that is the system that get's effected by a vacuum leak!

also while your there pick up a new pcv valve. they are very cheap like 5 bucks or less and install it.

when you have the code out of the computer and if they don't relate to what i said please udate us with more info and we can better assist you once you have a code we can trouble shoot.

Check for vacuum leaks, especially the intake gaskets. Does it run rough on a cold start for a few seconds and then smooth out and run fine until the next cold start?
