There are 2 ports on the upper intake manifold, can any one tell me where these are supposed to go? the vehicle i am working on is a friends 98 malibu, and these ports had no hoses connected to them.

On bottom of hood or on radiator support should be a diagram of vacuum hose routing. It should hopefully show you what hoses go to what points. But for now get rubber vacuum caps, or even use electrical tape to cap the hoses for now. Car should idle better with no vacuum leak - but those may be causing something important to be disconnected. See if diagram is there to try and find what may be disconnected. If it is important sensor car will never run right.

I am trying to locate the low pressure port on my 2000 Saturn LS. there is no cap on the only visible and accessible port I see. It is located in the front of the engine compartment (passenger side) but...

The high pressure port is much larger than the low pressure port. It is impossible to hook a charging hose to the wrong port. If the charging hose is leaking, it is either because it is not clicked all the way on the port or the charging hose connector is defective.

The high pressure port is located on the discharge hose just to the rear (driver's side) of the A/C compressor.

CHARGING THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM Where is the valve to connect the refill cylinder?

not sure what you mean by refill cylinder, but there are two ports to charge a a/c system, low side and high side, you fill on the low side, if you are using a can you bought from wal mart or a auto parts store than most come with a small hose that connects from the can to the port, you cannot mess it up, the hose will only connect to the low side port, the high and low side ports are two different sizes, one is located on top of the engine by the suge tank area, the other is located/accessed from under the front right of the car, look for a big hose coming from the a/c compressor and just follow it till you find the port, the big hose is your low side hose.

How do I add coolant to the air conditioning system of my 2001 Hyundai Elantra?

You need to locate the low port on the AC.

You recharge the AC connecting to the low port.

You find the AC low pressure at the top of the compressor. Near the compressor you find two ports, the high port and low port.
You can follow the compressor line to reach the port.

To find out which one is the low port, run the air conditioner for a couple of minutes withthe engine on.
Then turn off the care and touch the lines from compressor to the two ports , often covered with plastic caps. Only one of the pipes will be cold, the line that is cold will lead you to the low port.

I need to find the service port for the a/c system on a 1999 Ford Expedition. The one up front and high will not allow the service quick-disconnect hose to connect.

do not try to fill through the high pressure port.

The low pressure port is on the side of the accumulator/drier. Please rate as solved if this is what you need.
