My son-in-law started to take apart the motor in my 1970 chevy nova about 3 years ago. It's a 307 V8, he's now in Iraq (due to come home soon) and I want to put it back together before he gets home. I'm not a trained mechanic, but I can follow instructions and pictures. He has all the belts, bolts, and hoses removed along with the distributor, fans, starter, alternator, radiator, etc...I'm looking for something that will show me how to put this back together. An exploded view of the engine from the ground up, I guess with detailed pictures of how to put it all back together...is there such a thing?
Your best bet is to get yourself a repair manual from chiltons or strate from G.M. Most all your major auto parts stores have web sites you can go to and get the information and diagrams you need also. A repair manual is best. You also can get them thru Year One. National Parts Depot. Original Parts Groupe, Jegs, and Summit Racing. for your particular project.
