It's normal for belts to loosen up a little after installation. I'd check the belt and re-tighten until there's no slack. A slipping belt would certainly cause the issue you have. Hope this answers your question. Best of luck!

The voltage regulator is in the PCM. If there is a problem with it, the PCM has to be replaced.

Where is the voltage regulator on a 2005 kia Sedona LX 3.5l.Also where do the speedometer cable connect to?

Voltage regulator is located in the alternator. You do not have a speedo cable it is a sensor located on the transmission above the passenger CV shaft. There is a revised alternator for your van along with a PCM flash upgrade. You might have to take it to a dealer to get the flash done.

What component keeps the alternator from overcharging the battery?

This is normally controlled from the voltage regulator unit that is fitted inside the alternator. Probable cause for a malfunction is the jump starting of vehicle or other vehicle, could also be a battery fault, i.e. bad cell

It sounds like your alternator is bad. Here is how to find out:

Start your car (jump it if necessary)

Let it run - while it is still running - disconnect the battery cables from the battery.

If your car suddenly dies, most likely its the alternator.

If your car does not die after disconnecting the battery cables - then its probably a bad battery and your alternator is working fine.

I have check engine ligth on the code is P0560¿what is the solution?I changed the alternator and them light go on.

P0560 System Voltage Malfunction
Check battery (load test) as well as all connections, cables
and wiring for cleanliness, tightness, etc.

Also, check charging system (including alternator output...it's possible you got a defective alternator).

Check the battery voltage. If it is 15 volts or higher, it might be a bad regulator in the alternator. High voltage will kill light bulbs.
