2005 Chrysler Town and Country 3.3. I have P0513 code and the red dot anti-theft light is flashing.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to model category.

Disconnecting the battery is never a good idea as it breaks the code paring between the key, the BCM / ECM and Immobilizer Module. Always charge a car battery in the car without removing it. Even a dead battery has enough volts to keep the ECM / BCM programming alive. Have all the keys done at the same time. If you only have one key, have another chip key cut and programmed. You don't mention a second key, and we get so many people here who lose their only key and ask how to bypass and hot-wire. The answer to that is "you can't".

What does code P0513 mean? The OBD-II code P0513 stands for 'incorrect immobilizer key. ' The code activates when the PCM fails to recognize the immobilizer key (ignition key) despite detecting its presence.

DOES P0513 CODE CAUSE ENGINGE LIGHT TO COME ON?

Yes of course. All P Codes make the Engine Malfunction Light come on.

Error Code P0513 means the PCM (powertrain control module, also known as ECM or engine control module in other vehicle makes) has detected the presence of the immobilizer key (better known as ignition key) but fails to recognize it. If the ignition cylinder is turned on, the engine is cranked (but not yet started).

I have a 2007 jeep commander. Error code p0513. It will crank up, and seconds after will shut off. After a few tries it will crank up and run. Can anyone help?

code p0513 refers to incorrect immobiliser key===causes-- immobiliser system
As the engine starts after repeated tries it indicates that there is a problem in either the key fob(check battery/replace battery) or the immobiliser program in the CPU program
Try using a scanner tool to reset the CPU program
If that is not effective you may have to seek the services of a service dealer as the problem may be in getting the key reprogrammed to the vehicle or a new ECM

Changed ecm and now I get a code that says bad immobilizer. what can I do

this indicates a bad or wrong key. you may have to have the key sync to the new ECM so it recognizes it to allow the car to start.

Chrysler sebring code p0513

P0513 stands for invalid SKIM Key. Basically it means that the "computer chip" that is in your ignition key which has a special code is not recognized by your vehcile compter (PCM). In most cases that I have come across is that either your VIN is not entered or is the incorrect VIN programmed into the PCM. Have you recently changed the PCM ? You may try another ignition key but I doubt that would work unless you are using the wrong key for the vehicle. You will need special diagnostic computer programs in order to correct this problem. Most likely your PCM will need to be "Flashed" to the VIN. This really isn't a weekend/backyard/part time mechanic fix. Hope this helps you to understand what the code is and what it means. Guessing the vehicle won't start.....

There are two basic reasons for not starting - no spark or no fuel, both of which are controlled by the ECM. You need to check error codes and these items - for the spark, test it at the cylinder 1 sparkplug; for the fuel check the pressure (if too high or low, problem!).

What do these code means for my pacifica p0513/p0522 car won't start? HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

P0513 is "Invalid Skim Key" The key may have damaged programing and if that is the case the dealer maybe able to reprogram that key for you (if you have 2 keys, both keys will have to be reprogramed so that they both match. Good Luck).
P0522 =Engine Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch Circuit Low Voltage.
Possible causes - Low oil level or motor mechanical fault
- Open or short oil level sensor circuit condition
- Poor oil level sensor electrical connection
- Faulty oil pressure sensor

My 99 2.2 SOH cavalier....she gets spark and fire but won"t start. Even though this is a no-no, won"t start with ether either, gets compression, plenty< crank sensor puts out 8 volts......no chip in...

I am leaning to timing belt problem if the belt broke and the valve is closed on that cly you would have compression there. If the ecm was the cause you would not have spark.
