How do you replace a fuel pump in a 1993 grand caravan?

The pump is in the gas tank. On some early 90s models you could access the pump thru an access plate without dropping the tank.
Otherwise you have to drop the tank and take the pump out thru the top. If you do replace it, make sure you replace the filter too.

On my 2002 Odyssey the fuel guage sensor is defective. Is it necessary to drop the gas tank to replace the sensor.?

the pump unit is accessed from a hole in the floor, you need to take out the rear seats and carpet. be sure to replace the gasket, lock nut and fuel line retainers. you are money ahead to replace the fuel pump unit (pump and sender assy)

  3. Remove the rear lower seat cushion.
  4. Remove the fuel pump module cover.
  5. Remove any dirt that has accumulated around the fuel pump module attaching flange to prevent it from entering the tank during service.

The only way to change the fuel pump is by dropping the gas tank true/false?

False....pull the back seat and remove the large rubber grommet that covers the access hole. The pump will not fit thru the hole but a little "persuading" around the hole with some vise grips will allow the pump to come out. Kind of hackish but the metal is simple to bend back into place once you are done. Don't forget to disconnect your battery before you do any work on your fuel system.
Take care.

Can I cut a hole thru the trunk to access fuel pump?

If you can do it without damaging anything. it is all up to you. I would make sure to seal it back tight after cutting the hole. Don't use anything bit a chisel. I have never seen it done but it's your car.
