ford five hundred voltage regulator - cc738b50-5ca1-438b-b94a-d5ee1a50f74b.jpgYou are correct as far as a voltage regulator being located inside the alternator. No there isn't a seperate one for the computer and 2 of the wires going to the alternator go directly to the connector of the PCM. Not sure of you problem but am guessing you are having a charging problem. have you checked the fuse for the charging system ? If not it is in the fuse panel under the hood of the vehicle. In the fuse layout I have provided I have marked the fuse you will want to check. If you have a good fuse, have had the alternator bench tested and it tested out good, there is also 2 fuseable links in the wiring for the alternator. One of thos could be blown. You could have a wiring problem and the computer itself could be faulty but that's not very common.

SOURCE: = 07 ford five hundred ac problems

First off,is the ac compressor turning? If so are the large line, near where you put freon in,cold? If the low side lines(large lines)are cold and sweating, and the evaporator box is dripping water on the ground, then the ac is most likely fine. There is a temp door in the ac blower box, that moves for hot,or cold when you select these comfort levels. This door is most likely controlled by a actuator motor. This motor is most likely bad.If it is control by vacuum, look for a broken vacuum hose,or one that has come loose under hood.

You need to have the transmission serviced. The wrench indicates that the fluid in your transmission is out of spec or you have an out of spec pressure condition.

I would check battery voltage with a meter when the lights are flashing to check alternator output. Might be a ground problem.

Hi, to check the alternator, check the voltage with the engine running and the jumper cables removed. If the voltage is less than 14 VDC with the engine running, remove the alternator and have it tested at your local chain store.

Electrical/Battery Light

Hi,I am Ron,Look at the alternator out put voltage, and have the battery load tested. Also check bad connection from battery to alternator(this is the large wire/cable).alternator turns the battery light on,why? You need to figure out witch one.A diode could be going out in the alternator, diodes change ac voltage to dc voltage ,that`s why the call it a alternator(alternating current)AC voltage means alternating current. If it goes unrepaired it can ruin battery, changing battery voltage from 12 volts dc to 12 volts ac.Also there is a built in voltage regulator that holds voltage down to about 14 volts charging while car is running.Voltage regulators can cut off charging completley or open wide allowing alternator to charge as much as 18 volts dc,ruining battery(boiling battery acid out of battery)and ruining alternator by burning fields and rectifiers out.So have it checked or do it your self.Auto parts stores can check alternator and battery. If I can be of more help, please [email protected]
