SOURCE: how to clear codes/check engine lite

under the hood on the left side is a fuse panel, if there is a single EFI fuse, remove it for 30 seconds or so, if there is more than 1 efi fuse remove them both along with the fuse marked e.t.c.s. leave them out for 1 minute or so and that will erase the code and reset the light. make sure the key is switched off before removing fuses

SOURCE: 2002 Lexus ES300 Check Engine Light

You can disconnect your battery for a short period of time, 5-10 minutes should do it. There is no guarantee that the check engine light will not come back on in time, but it will make it go away at least temporarily. If you go to Autozone, 99% of the time they will hook up a code reader and diagnose your problem. It may be a minor and/or inexpensive fix. Please vote appropriately and leave feedback. I hope this helps and good luck.

Need to know code p0028 is making. Check engine. Light stay on and engine will not idle

code p 0028 refers to intake valve control solenoid circuit , bank 2 ---range performance problem===causes--wiring ---intake valve control solenoid
this solenoid controls the advance / retard of the valve timing for the inlet valve camshaft and will account for the idle problem and the engine light
take it to an accredited service center who has experience on your make of vehicle and have the wiring checked or the solenoid replaced

Why does car shift hard and cooling fan stay on?

you have a code in the ecm that needs to be checked out in order to fix the problem. the fan staying on is indicative to a problem detected.

Do you need to resetreplacing an engine coil the computer after changing an engine coil?

To shut off the check engine light you have to clear the code out of the computer. Or continue driving it till it goes through 3 drive cycles without seeing a concern and it should shut of, if the coil repaired the concern.I always reset the computer and the k.a.m (keep alive memory) when I do c.e.l repair. Some vehicles still running in fail safe mode if this isn't do

Have 2000 Toyota Camry XLE. Check Engine light appears. Code shows P1035 for Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 being defective. Replaced sensor. Cleared computer code. Let engine idle for 30 minutes before...

What your asking, is how to make a malfunction light
go away from your dash, so you can forget you have a
problem & make no attempt to repair the car

Until you find & resolve active OBD2 Codes that actually set
a MIL or Check Lamp it will keep coming back

Every time you clear a code you have to run a drive cylce in
some cases to start the procees over, as you need those codes
to diagnose the issues

The codes that are there, do not tell you what to replace

Without writing a book here, just study OBD Systems online &
take the car to a repair shop

It is beyond your ability at this time to figure out
