It should go to a control solenoid that controls vac to the valve. You may need to hunt up a shop manual to get the hose diagram or look at a junk engine.

SOURCE: no vacuum to egr valve

there is an EGR vacuum solenoid somwhere that controls on/off vacuum to actuate the valve. i am not to sure of the location, but follow the vacuum line back from the egr until you find a device that looks like an electrical check valve for vacuum. that is a possibilty. but then again i am a ford, chrysler guy and am just giving you an answer based on my understanding of the functuality of a vacuum egr system

SOURCE: EGR Solenoid creates no vacuum

The EGR solenoid is located towards the rear of the car from the EGR vavle and slightly towards the center. It kind of stands on end. There is a vacuum line coming out the top (port C) and a green 2 wire connector plugged into it. Hope this helps.

Where is the egr valve on a citizen c5

  • First you want to open up the hood of your car
  • Find the engine diagram sticker on the inside of the open hood and identify the mechanism that is labeled "EGR Solenoid" on the sticker.
  • Find the "vacuum line" on the sticker diagram and identify its color. This is the line that runs from the EGR solenoid to the EGR valve.
  • Locate the vacuum line inside the engine compartment of the vehicle toward the front of the driver's side. The vacuum line will be the same color on the vehicle as it is on the diagram.
  • Follow the vacuum line from the front of the vehicle where it connects to the EGR solenoid through the conduit that carries it to the EGR valve at the rear of the engine compartment. The easiest way is to track the uniquely colored vacuum line along the path between its two connection points. The vacuum line connects to the EGR valve, which is the disk-shaped object located at the rear of the engine compartment
    on the driver's side.

Possible ecu problems

Usually it's the solenoid that supplies vacuum to the EGR that fails. Trace the EGR vacuum supply line back to the solenoid and test it to make sure it clicks, allowing vacuum to flow to the EGR valve. If it doesn't click when current is applied to it, replace it.

1998 nissan maxima reads EGR flow maintenance on diagnostic and cuts off sometime when i come to a stop or let off the gas?!?!?!?!?!

A good vacuum chamber doesn't mean the egr valve isn't sticking or leaking.

The recorded fault might have nothing at all to do with the periodic stalling. The management system should maintain the idle at the programmed speed by constantly adjusting the idle air flow through the idle air valve or equivalent. Perhaps it is sticking or not responding quickly enough or perhaps it takes too long to establish a stable idle due to other factors such as poor injector spray patterns or a tired oxygen or other sensor...

I have a 91 s-10 P/U 2.8L It has a vaccum problem.

some vacumn lines only **** air when the antifreeze warms up,i would check either EGR valve or EGR sensor, then the fuel pressure regulator, but if you think its a vacumn issue, then spray carb cleaner around the throttle body and lines
