Question about 2000 Mercury Cougar
Hello, My interior light fuse keeps blowing. It seems to go out when it wants to. I put a new fuse in there worked fine for a minute then blew again. Put another fuse in there worked fine for a while then blew again. Anyway to figure out on how to fix it?
Sounds like something is making a short circuit somewhere. First, check in each light socket to make sure there is nothing loose in them and that nothing is touching the body of the car. If that doesn't do it, one of the wires going to one of the sockets could be cut, pinched or rubbing against something enough to wear through the insulation. That is a little harder to check as it requires pulling the headliner, door panels and anything else that is hiding the wires.
