Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

I have rust stains on my counter tops in our rented trailer. They are particle board counter tops with some kind of laminate, I'm not exactly sure what it is. I really need to get these out so any suggestions would be great.

Get CLR from Home Depot or Walmart or Target and put on sponge and rub the rusted area. It should clean. Wipe clean.

SOURCE: rust behind both front door (top only) hinges

If there is rust, the bolts are loose and the hinge is working (moving) causing bare metal exposure to rusting. Tighten the bolts, iit will be ok.

Possibly blew out the hazard flasher unit. Check the flasher unit (usually there are 2, one for directionals and one for flashers).

SOURCE: Toyota Tercel 92. I'm putting

Never use a torch around the gas tank!!! Also the gas tank is safer full than almost empty, the fumes act like a bomb if ignited. I would not attempt to remove the bolts yourself. I really recommend you have a shop do this job, have them remove the bolts by whatever means is safest and then replace them so you can complete the job at home if you desire. One last question, is a serious injury or death worth saving money over, I think not.

My 1991 Chevy Suburban's fuel pump isn't coming

A fuse won't fix anything if has blown

Check all the fuses

I would think the fuel pump has worn out & failed,
or you have rust & corrosion on the wiring, possibly
on top of the fuel tank & hard to get to

I just bought a horse trailer and when I hook it up to my 2006 Silverado, the lights don't work. My trailer hitch and wiring system are new, and the previous trailer owner tested the lighting of

Some people wire trailer plugs differently. If the plug is not wired differently than yours, make sure the tow ball is clean. No rust. That's where the trailer gets its ground from. Usually they will work if thats the case, but not right. I can't remember what the wire colors are right now. Go to etrailer and look up the diagram.

Replace rear upper strut end case on 2002 xg350

We use this site from home as you do,nothing
special here

You will need to go to repair shops for the price quote part

You can get a general idea on the strut price from Rock Auto.Com

The top strut bearings are most likely one problem,as you indicated
& the other is that the struts are just old & rusted away on top & the
oil leaks out & they need to be replaced

The dust boot, plastic or rubber isn't loose or an issue,it gets reused

I've been tring to get the exhaust system flex tube off my 98 Ford Tarus but the 2 nuts seem to stuck what do I do?

Of coarse they are stuck

Rusted on

Perfectly normal to be rusted stuck

The real issue is not to break them off

I assume you sprayed them with something
& have lots of tools to choose from

You won't have or want to heat them with
any kind of torch
That is an option ,but a dangerous one
There is an induction heating tool for that
but have never seen where you can rent one

I'm out of ideas,sorry
We all go through the same problem many times
in our life working on exhaust & other things

Someone may tell you an impact air gun
May work, if it fits or may snap off the studs

I had water coming through my sun visors this morning after a heavy rain. Where is it coming from? I don't have a sun roof.

The car is too new to have rust issues along the top edge of your roof so it must be a problem with the seal around the windshield. Look at the top of the windshield and see if you can see any kind of damage to the black rubber seal along the top of the wind shield. There may have been a rock or something hit it allows water to enter along the top edge of the windshield. If this is the case the roof lining will must likely also be damp. Hope this helps.

Need fuse panel diagram for 2004 ford f150 stx right brake & turn signal did not work on trailer when i went to rent one from uhaul. i need to know what fuse to check for that paticular area.

If you did not get an owners manual with your truck ( purchased used ), you can download one from Ford :
https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/owners_manuals/default.asp

The fuses you are looking for are cab fuse panel fuses #36 & #42 are the stop / turn lamps for the trailer tow adapters.

Need to tow 1999 F250 about 150 miles home. What

If you have a stick shift, you rent a 2 wheel tow dolly and run the front tires onto it and strap it down. Put the truck in neutral and away you go.
If you have an Automatic you want all 4 wheels on a flatbed or tow trailer. You rent a car hauler trailer and piggyback the truck onto the trailer. A good rental will know the weight and rent you the right trailer.

Do the non working bulb holders have power at the bulb terminals? If not back track to the one that works. The flow of power or earth is bad and its probably happening between working and non working.Do you have a trailer plug?make sure the joins are secure.Maybe two wires touching?Have you put an earth to one of the bulb holders that dont work.Try taking the working bulb out and see if the others light up,Hard to do or suggest test without vehicle there to work on and makes it hard not knowing exactly what tests youve done but suggested a couple in the hope that theres something that helps.Good luck
