If you have the towing package it should have all it needs. Any dealer can tell you & that should be for free. Also you did not give info. about the Trailer small don't worry about it. But if big with a lot of wind drag or very heavy? Best to get advise from a dealer or other pro. Like a travel trailer dealer. It's their bis. to know.

Most likely your truck won't even know it's pulling a littel thing like that. Depends on how heavy you load it how hard you drive how steep the road & all that is a factor.

That's a very small job for that big of a truck. If it's cooling system is working properly you will have no heating problem with that size load.

Yes I suggest a tranny cooler if it is an automatic. As far as engine oil goes no it is not nessasary.

SOURCE: need to replace transmission line to the cooler on a GMC Sierra

Its fairly easy, you dont have to replace the fittings at the cooler. if they are leaking up at the cooler, it needs to be replaced, but if not, its just simple line to line, not too long of a process

please rate well! hope this gives you the info you needed!

i just changed my unit on drivers side door man it was a pain well first it started off with not going at all i thought it was the motor but motor was good the wire was just getting hung up because the plastic piece broke on the track,so first disconnect motor from track and hit switch to see if it turns, and if not then replace motor,be careful not to loosen the almost need it exact tension for the track to work right.

How do you get the oil cooler line loose at the filter housing to replace the o ring on that line on 4x4 1996 gmc k1500

there should be 1 nut and stud holding the lines to the housing. I would suggest replacing the upper o-ring for the oil filter adapter at the same time. The oil cooler hoses are also prone to leak, if so, you want to replace evreything while you are there.

1996 Z71 5.7 ltr transmission shift

1. Oil coming from the ext. vent means Overfill fluid transmission or valve body problem (need to open the transmission to overhaul it) but usually overfill.
2. Do you have any transmission faulty code
3. If you pull a trailer, heavy load there is a function in PCM (powertrain control Module) that raise the pressure to compensate the slip at clutch pressure and if you unhook the trailer and go on the highway before the PCM learn it, it will shift hard. What GM call the "shift adapt". You probably have a 4L80E for transmission or the 4L60E depends on the truck's options.
hope it helps.
