Question about Cars & Trucks

My corsa (56 plate) makes a metallic clinking noise when going over bumpy parts of the road. Sounds as if it's coming from the drivers side. Any idea what this could be?

Is this a light clinking a light knocking sound most possible cause is a worn drop link joint, easy to change and check put steering on full lock to gain access to drop link which will be the upright bar coming from suspension strut down to the anti roll bar, grab this and give a good tug in and out and if this is the culprit it will have a loose feel and you will feel the free play

Check under the bonnet for loose items and also in the wheels and wheel arches.

SOURCE: banging noise from rear of bmw 316 e36

It could be your subframe as well big problem with E36's. Also you can check your Rear Shock Mounts in the trunk by removing the carpet, they are under the speakers. Also check your brake pads, the little shim could have fallen off causing your brake pad to rattle over bumps. And check all your heat shields.

SOURCE: Loud clunking noise in 2008 Pontiac G5

HI, i would inspect the strut assembly for loose structure asap. i would also inspect the wheel knuckle and rotor and tie rod ends for loose fit as well. inspect thoroughly.

Its most likely the CV-joint assembly. the boot may have slipped off, allowing the joint assembly to dry up. i advise to inspect all the above before looking at the CV-half joint assembly and boot.
