ABS sensor are located in what is called the knuckle. This is where all of your steering and suspension hooks up directly behind your wheels. There are 4, one for each wheel. They will face in towards the gear ring on each axle. Without knowing your particular vehicle I cannot give you any more details though, sorry.

Where are the abs. sensors located at?

The ABS sensors are located on the back side of each wheel in the area of the brakes. The sensors should not keep the car from running. A warning light should display on the dash, but should not keep the car from running.

Well, start by repairing the obvious issue. ABS sensors are located in the same area, so when the bearing fails, metal filings go everywhere and mess up ABS sensing...

Where is the abs speed sensor on a 5 series bmw?as the abs light and traction light have both illuminated

You have 4 wheel speed sensors. There is one at each wheel located just behind the hub. You can trace it by loacting the black insulated wire leading out from the wheel well and going behind the wheel.

My ABS engages when I brake and also when in brake and turn. Any suggestions?

You have a faulty or dirty ABS sensor, you can try to clean the ABS sensor with brake parts cleaner and inspect the wire leads. The ABS sensor are common to get dirt and the wire leads my be damaged due to corrosion or a break in the wire. The ABS sensor is located on the back side of the front wheel hub and the wires leads can be seen along the upper A-arms. Start with that and replace the sensor of all connections are good. Most auto parts store will have the ABS sensor on there shelf and can give you the step by step instructions like Auto Zone.

Abs sensor

The ABS sensors are located in the bearing wheel hub assembly, "normally" these sensor's cannot be removed on most models but it may be possible on yours....This will require removing the tire, brake caliper and possibly the bearing hub....One thing you can do is carefully inspect the wiring going down to your wheel bearings, if you find damaged or frayed wiring or your connections look bad, you will end up most likely replacing the hub assembly. These are normally about 75-100 dollars each and they are not hard to replace yourself if you are somewhat handy with a wrench. A dealer can tell you which sensor is giving you the trouble, or maybe Pep Boys or some auto parts stores may be able to help in this way too. Most times this ABS light you have on is also associated with the "Trac Off" light on all the time too.

Where exactly is the abs sensor located on my 99 dodge 1500 4x4?

Normally your ABS sensors are on the wheel hubs.  Take the tire off and look for wires going up by your brakes.  That would be the ABS sensor.

Erratic speedometer with ABS and brakelight lit

same problem here, found 3 places that say it is the abs sensor:

Had this problem with my 1999 Ram 1500. There is a sensor at the top of the rear differential for the ABS system. That sensor went bad and replacing it took care of the problem. What caused mine to go bad was apperantly water got into the differential when launching and loading my boat. check to see if gear lube needs to be replaced also.
The answer above is perfectly correct. When the ABS sensor on the diff goes bad the speedo no longer will work, the odometer stops recording mileage and both brake and ABS light comes on. You also loose O/D or "Lock-up" in the torque converter. The sensor is inexpensive and can be changed in about 30 mins. Good Luck!

The fix for your truck is the ABS speed sensor located in the top of the differential housing , held in with one stud . Your speedometer is calculated through the ABS controller. Replacing that sensor will fix your problem.
