My mg zr has no spark 1.8vvc160 tuns over

because you have changed the head gasket I am thinking that there is a valve timing problem. If at any stage you turned the crank when the head was removed and refitted the head and cam shaft
and turned the crank to align the marks then there is a distinct possibility that there is valve damage. Do a compression test. Turning an engine by hand is difficult because each piston will have compression.

Why car is running rough

It is most likely a carburetor problem. MGs are known for their dual carb set up. Heres a you tube video on how to tune them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nvGLgO6pj0

Mg metro alternator

Only needs two wires, run a 40 amp cable from the large terminal on the alternator marked +, direct to the positive terminal on the battery or to the battery supply feed to the starter (which ever is easier). Then run a wire from the terminal marked 'ind' to a 5watt bulb, other side of the bulb needs to be wired to an ignition live feed. That's makes it the charge indication light. You need to fit this light, without it the alternator will not charge!!!! Light will come on when you switch the ignition on, and go out when the engine is started. Put a volt meter across the battery, should get a reading of 13.5 to 14.5 volts with engine running. Good Luck.

I have a 78 mgb the head lights, turn signals, gas gage, and rpm gage, don't work. We have checked wiring and fuses but can't find anything. Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Ignition switch? Battery?: Voltage correct? Battery size and type correct? (Other owners\' restore screw-ups? Kids?) Fuses correct amperage?: Power surge? Items themselves ruined/burned out? Stripped or exposed wiring--intermittent? Water vs. electrical. Dirt/contamination? Fuse box and connectors? Horn work? Starts, of course? Alternator? Alternator cables? Belt? (Hummm: Alternator--often a fine bet for small car trouble--big car, truck, or powerful car alternators, V8 or V6/6 cyl. always prove better. Small car/cheap car alternator? Old MG alternator--time to replace/re-coil? Dirty alternator? Your alternator proves worthy of crucifixion?!) Keep pluggin\'--it\'s gotta be something!: An interesting exercise in logic for Mr. Spock?!

How do you remove the alternator on a MG TF

release the soft top at front and rear, hard top first if it has one, fold rear of soft top up and tie around rear door frame with cord or a piece of wire remove rear parcel shelf trim and sound insulation you will then see a metal access panel held with 10mm headed bolts 3 are a bit difficult to remove remove them all and remove panel much more room to work now belt adjuster is got to from underneath

How to change shock absorbers on a mg zt

Rear shocks would be in the boot or back seat - just unbolt and replace, you will have to remove both wheels. Front shocks may need a spring compressor if the shocks are inside the road spring, DO NOT ATTEMPT FRONT SHOCKS WITHOUT A SPRING COMPRESSOR YOU WILL GET SERIOUSLY HURT!!!
