SOURCE: 2001 chevy silverado 2500 hd, 6.0, replaced fuel

If you are sure the fuel pump relay is working, check continuity from the pump to the relay socket. These wires love to corrode. When you turn your ignition on, the fuel pump will only run for a couple seconds before it shuts off via the automatic shutdown relay. Make sure you are checking power within this window. The PCM (powertrain control module) is what completes the ground in order for the relay to send power to the pump. If the PCM does not recieve a signal from several sensors (mainly the Crank Sensor) it will not turn on the pump. You may want to check these sensors, is the check engine light on? You can scan it to see if any sensors have thrown a code. Be sure all applicable fuses are ok, the PCM may have its own fuse, check that even if the fuel pump fuse is ok. Your Truck may also have an inertia switch for the fuel pump which shuts it off during an accident. Check that as well.

SOURCE: Trying to find the fuel pump FUSE.

There is no fuse specifically dedicated to the fuel pump on this year and model of Suburban. This Suburban is equipped with dual tanks and as such has two relay switches, primary and secondary, both of which are located at the main fuse box in the engine bay, that power up the respective fuel pumps.

The closest fuse (15A) controlling either of these relays also powers up the main control module (located beside and below the main fuse box). So, if one needs to disconnect the fuel pumps from functioning, then the only effective method is to disconnect the fuel pump relays.

SOURCE: no power at fuel pump chev.S-10 looking for fuel pump relay and fuse

The fuel pump relay is located Under hood, driver side, upper firewall, mounted in relay block.

The fuse is located under the instrument panel to the left of the steering column. The fuse block should be visible from underneath the steering column, near the pedal bracket. If the panel is not visible, check for a removable compartment door or trim panel which may be used on later models to hide the block.

Everything was running great and suddenly the engine fires but does not turn over in my 96 sierra 2500 where is the the fuse for the fuel pump i cannot locate it..please help

Hi, your pump is powered by the ECM-B fuse in the engine compartment relay box. The fuel pump relay is turned on by the ECM. Theres only one fuel pump relay, unless you have dual tanks. Be sure you have 55-60 psi fuel pressure. I "think" the oil pressure switch supplies power to the fuel pump after the engine is running.

Hello tsundw.
Gray(positive from relay) and black (ground) are for fuel pump.
Purple and Orange are for your fuel level gauge.
That is a diagram for the gasoline engine.
Hope this helps you solve your problem.
