Where is the torque converter clutch solenoid?

The torque converter is inside the transmission. The (electric) clutch solenoid - usually - is on the outside of the transmission case.

Get a flashlight, get under the vehicle and look on the transmission case for electrical wires..

03 Toyota 4runner 4wd 4.7l had codes p0771 , p0986, and p2716 with vsc light on. Told to replace trans. Replaced with used and now has p0778 and p2716 now with vsc light on and still harsh shifts

Who told u to replace trans?..first thing should have been done was check wiring and connections at transmission and ECM and between the 2...also need to check the pressure control solenoids B and D...its possible the ECM is acting up especially since P2716 came back twice.

Where is the TCC solenoid located

It's in the transmission. Remove the trans pan and it is on the solenoid package. But the solenoid may not be the problem. Could be the wiring, plugs(inside and outside the trans), torque converter, or the computer. 7b32d407-41bb-449c-8dd9-0a5f7effbf7f.gif

Is the module and/or solenoids inside of the transmission or outside of the transmission on a 1993 ford F250?

The transmission control module is part of the engine controller in the firewall behind left fenderwell. There is a solenoid block inside the Transmission pan that contains 5 solenoids , 2 shift,1 coast , 1 tcc and 1 pressure control.Various engine sensors also input into the transmission controller such as TPS ( throttle position sensor ) , map/mass ( engine load ) , and engine rpm. Also there is a trans temp sensor built into solenoid block and a range sensor on the side of trans that tells the computer where there gear selector is.Vehicle speed sensor also inputs into transmission controller. It takes a lot of data to decide what gear the transmission should be in.

Trans connector plug; can i replace this myself and how much$$$??

Depending on if it is coming from inside the plug or outside the plug -- if outside the plug -- you will have to remove the transmission pan and unbolt the electrical solenoids and remove connector - replace o ring seal and torque to specs.. If it is inside the plug you will have to replace plug and solenoid pak .. cost very from about 300.00 to 1000.00

Engine light on

what is the code? by the way the all the solenoids for the trans are on the inside if the trans, I know of no car that has these on the outside since they control hydraulic fluid passages, suggest you have another shop look at this, the actual labor to relace the solenoids is about 2 hours.

Yes,that code is a transmission code, pressure control solenoid A.On a Honda trans, there are two solenoids that control line pressure inside the trans. The two of them are made together into one assembly that Honda calls "Linear Solenoids".Most likely they are defective and need replacing, but require testing. They are mounted on the outside of the trans case,so the problem can be repaired without removing the transmission from the car.The actual diagnostic route for that trouble code involves ohms checking the wires from the vehicle computer to the solenoids.Ohms checking the solenoids, amps chekcing the solenoids, and then installing a line pressure gauge on the transmission to test the solenoids mechanically.I rebuild Honda and Acura transmissions on a regular basis, and solenoid failure is not out of the ordinary.Good luck.
