SOURCE: heater problem

Check the heater valve on the engine firewall. If it doesn't open when you move the temperature switch to hot open the valve manually. If the heater blows hot air the cable from the switch has failed.

How to install Block heater 2007 Chev Cobalt LS?

I think you can buy a dipstick heater to keep the oil warm, or a coolant heater. Some replace a freeze plug (difficult to install) and some go into the radiator hose i think. Check with a parts store.

2006 chevy cobalt the engine cooling fan is not coming on

Check with warm engine and off by touching on your radiator vents whether is in all places same temperature. If not check whether you have air in the coolant which needs bleeding,or not good coolant circulation, caused either by clogged radiator, not good water pump,or faulty thermostat.By having these things it is the possibility the fan switch not getting the correct temperature to allow the fans to start. the last thing if everything is working, the possible is the fan switch itself.

2007 CHEVY COBALT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND THE FAN IS CONSTANTLY RUNNING

this is normal for most vehicles, it is because the water temp in radiator continues to rise after you shut the engine off. would not worry about it unless it dose not shut off at all. or never runs

I have a 2007 Chevy Cobalt and I have noticed that when I turn on the AC in my car, the fan will continue to run until I physically take the key out of the ignition. Has any one else noticed this on the...

i have an 08 cobalt sport. It did the same thing. The dealer told me that it was normal for the fact that the fan has to work double to also cool down the AC, not just the engine. ********. A month later i went to denver and my car was over heating....... Guess what? It was the damn fan. And since the fan wasn't working my AC wasn't working. I called them and they fixed it. Since your engine fan is malfunctioning, it will burn out your fuse. Go to auto zone or advanced auto parts and ask them which fuse controls your engine fan. they will help you out. That's just a temporary fix because you will keep burning fuses one right after the other, but it works for a while. I can't tell you how much it will be to change the fan, but its around 300 dollars. Depending on labor cuz the fan is about 125-150.

I had this problem with a 2007 Chevy Cobalt. I changed the coolant sensor and even though the check engine light went out I still had a reading of "---" on the coolant gauge. The problem is most likely one of three things: a low coolant level, a bad coolant sensor, or the thermostat needs to be replaced. The only other possible thing it could be is a bad BCM (Body Control Module) which in that case you would most likely be having other weird problems.

The Thermostat and the sensor are both very easy to get to and replace. Take off the engine cover by removing the oil cap and they are both to the rear of the engine on the driver's side. They are right next to each other.

Hope this helps!
