SOURCE: ignition switch replacement 1999 ford expedition

Hi Roni Jones...
You can purchase a new ignition switch replacement at your local auto parts house...or they can order it for you.
They are pretty easy to replace...talk to your parts supply man and he can probably explain how to replace the switch

I need a new igniton switch I know but can't afford it. How can I temporarily fix this problem until it's replaced? (1998-Chevrolet caviler)

Take the old switch off so that the steering lock cannot activate.
Find the two wires that activate the ignition and connect to a separate switch, find the starter wire and connect it to a button. Flick the switch and press button to start engine.

I have a 2002 chevrolet caviler .i can start the car just fine.but when i try to turn the ignition key to shut it off,it wont move.and the air conditioning and wipers arent working, but when they are...

Yep, the ignition switch is worn out. There are 3 screws on the bottom of the column bezel. Remove them and pull the bezel down and out of the way. Lift the top out of the way. If you have tilt wheel, pry the handle out, it pops out. Remove and replace the switch. It is opposite off the key. You will need torx/star bits to do the job.

Does a 1999 caviler have a shut down oil sensor

If you are refering to the oil pressure switch that was used in some of the older GM vehicles that shut the fuel pump off in the event of fuel pressure loss, the answer to your question is NO, a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier is not equipped with one of these.

Engine light cam on, used code scanner, got code #44, thermactor air control system, what do i need to do?

A code 44 on a 1999 caviler ? for 1999 the code should be like a po**** type of code, unless the is the wrong year. a code 44 for an older caviler is the code for a lean exhaust this would be like a 1995 and older, check the engine for any vacuum leaks, listen for any hissing noise you may have a broken or disconnected vacuum hose, if no leaks are found then replace the oxygen sensor, this should take care of the problem is no vacuum leaks are found.

I have a 1999 bmw 528i. when i turn ignition all bells and whistles light up but nothing happens as if the starter is not getting signal from the ignition?

First check the battery terminals and connectors to make sure they are clean and free of corrosion. If all is well there you have a bad starter.(provided the starter wire connections are ok.)

On my 1999 chevy caviler both my brake light and blinkers dont work besides the problem being the "pigs tail" what else could it be?

check the turn signal switch its self the brake light circuit is a main part of that switch and when you have both! turn light and brake light issues theres a 97% chance it's the turn switch itself

1998 caviler

Look on your radiator and you should find a "bolt" head, about 20mm, with 2 wires plugged into it.
This is the fan thermo switch, with the ignition on, but engine not running, connect these wires together by shorting a screwdriver accross and the fan should cut in.
If the fan works, then the switch needs replacing, just unscrew and replace.
If the fan doesn't work then there is a problem further into the circuit, fuse, relay or broken wire.
