Have 98 grandam no power at purple wire at starter

Purple wire runs from Park/Neutral position switch (or clutch engage switch M/T transmission) straight to the starter solenoid. First, assuming 60A ignition switch fuse under the hood in the power distribution center good, check for 12V at YEL wire (from ignition switch) at the switch when ignition moved to START position. If 12V present at YEL, but absent at PPL (also in START position), replace the Park/Neutral switch. If no voltage present at YEL wire then must verify 12V at RED (242) to ignition switch next. If present replace ignition switch. Hope this helps.

My 1998 Ford Explorer alarm goes off for no reason

Grounding the purple / green wire will permanently disable all alarm functions: (thanks alltech alarmman)

I found the elusive Purple and green wire by:
1) Remove the plastic kick panel on the left of the drivers side foot well
2)remove the plastic trim that extends along the floor by the door and up toward the fuse box.
3)pull back the plastic trim that runs along the door entry.
4) pry up the black wire track top.
5) this gives you good easy access to a bundle of wires in that track.
6) cut away the electrical tape to spread open the wires inside.
7) find the skinny purple, and almost yellowish green wire.
8) splice in a 2 foot section of wire, and run it back to the green grounding bolt exposed in step one.
9) replace trim,

Where is the blower motor located on a 1998 pontiac grand prix se?

under the dash below the glove box
if the blower motor is inop then
1st check for power on the purple wire at the blower motor
if it has power then you need a blower motor
if it does not have power then replace the resister
located beside the blower motor5-7 wire connector
TRICK TO REMOVING THE RESISTER
you will see 2 goldish colored bolts they are 5.5mm remove them
now the TRICK
there is a 3rd bolt you can't see pull down then pull towards you
this will BREAK THE RESISTER OR SLIDE OFF THE BOLT
then when the resister is out LOOSEN THAT BOLT OFF
the resister is slotted slide the NEW RESISTER in the bolt you just loosened then tighten the other 2 leave the hiden bolt loose
hope this helps

I have a 1998 chevy malibu what wire for the o2 sensor is the signal wire and theres four to choose from

On the front O2 Sensor, the signal wire s Purple. On the rear O2 Sensor, the signal wire is Purple and White. (You will probably have to look at the wire colors on the main harness side of the O2 Sensor connector, not on the sensor itself.)

1998 cavalier, ignition wire to selonoid is not getting power

on your starter solenoid , looking at the schematics , you have a purple wire going to the "S" terminal (hot only in the start position) , and on the bigger stud/lug "B" terminal , you have a big red cable going straight to the battery and also on that same big stud/lug you have another smaller wire that is a fusible link to the altenator , so when you say the red wire to starter in not getting any power , are we talking about the big battery cable or the smaller purple wire ? if the purple wire is not hot in the start position , it goes from the starter "S" to the nuetral saftey switch and then to the ignition switch . we didn't put the fusible link wire on the "S" terminal and the purple on the "B" terminal did we ? this is getting long so i will stop here and wait for comment.
