See if you have power going to the clutch on the front of the compressor. If not you will find a plug on the top of one of the metal lines this is a pressure switch pull off and put a paper clip or wire between the two slots if the compressor engages you are low on freon and have a leak. Also check your fuses

SOURCE: How to replace the AC Compressor

If it is a 3.5 or 3.2 it is fairly easy to replace. Does it still have freon in it.

Is there a fuse for the a/c compressor on a chrysler lhs? where is it located?

No,not really, there is a clutch relay, but make sure the freon level is full,if it is real low,or out of freon, the compressor will not engage.

1999 Chrysler LHS, my daughters a/c was working fine, then the next minute its blow hot air? Could it be as simple as a fuse?

Check the fuse first, but odds are it won't be the fuse that's the problem.

Odds are you have had a sudden refrigerant loss due to a leak or broken line, or your condenser has failed

Will the blower power modules from a 1997,1998,1999,work on a 1996 chrysler.

Don't see a LHS for 1998, just compared 96 and 97, 2 different parts although same engine. They must have modified the heater/ac system in 98. From what I can tell, the 96 has a bracket attached to the motor whereas the 97 doesn't . If you were to remove the old blower motor and bring it to the junkyard and check it against the 97 or newer blower motors, it's possible that its just a matter of retrofitting the bracket off your broken motor to the newer model. Hope this helps and Best of Luck to you!

99 chrysler lhs a/c comressor pulley frozen

I had the same problem coming back from Hilton Head Island over July 4th weekend. I had been experiencing a grinding noise for sometime coming from the a/c compressor pulley. Aside from the noise, the a/c had been blowing strong, and cold with out any problems. Unfortunately I neglected it for too long, and it locked up after a terrible squeal, followed by a little smoke (belt burning). I cut off the belt, and was on my way. Granted it was a bit hot, but I was sure glad I was able to get home! I have found replacement a/c compressors w/clutch online from $200-$350 depending on condition (rebuilt vs new). I strongly recommend attending to the problem at the first sign of any noise.
