Question about 2009 Toyota Corolla
Altenator replaced first time. No answers from Toyota Service. Suggestions? I now drive about 3 months and then the battery dies.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I assume that you have a 1.8 engine. The oil filter is in a round metal housing under the engine; you have to remove the housing to access the cartridge type oil filter; the 1.8s do not have a "spin-on" filter.

SOURCE: Toyota Corolla Hood is stuck
If it has been awhile since you have been under the hood, the cable may be rustd and not moving to open the latch. The latch iself may be stuck and you can try lightly tapping either side of the hood to pop it loose.

I had the same problem with my 1990 P/u. It turned out to be the O2 sensor touching the underside of my box shorting and blowing the EFI Fuse
