Where is the vapor canister purge valve located on a 96 Cadillac deville Northstar

If your purge valve/solenoid is failing, chances are you will need a new EVAP Carbon Canister as well. As the canister gets old the charcoal (carbon) starts to break down and bits gets sucked and stuck in the valve when the gases are purged from the canister on start up and acceleration. If you take the solenoid off and tap it on the ground you will probably see tiny bits of carbon fall out. This is a sure sign that you need a new canister ...Just replacing the solenoid valve won't help as it will only get clogged again by these bits of carbon. GM located most canisters in the rear wheel well under the wheel well lining. Not too sure of your model but check a Manuel. You must also blow out the line before connecting it to the new canister as bits of carbon can be still in the line and contaminate the new purge valve.

04 escalade p0443 replace purge valve and gas cap but didn't check fuse so which fuse is it

There wouldn't be a fuse. The valve would be controlled by the engine computer. The code indicates a circuit malfunction in the purge control valve. Since a new valve didn't fix it, you would have to see a wiring diagram and follow a testing procedure with a digital volt/ohmmeter (DVOM) to diagnose the circuit. In short, you would need to buy a good repair manual for the car and become a dedicated DIY'er. Wish I had the information at hand that you need, best I can tell you is refer to a repair manual. A solenoid would only have two wires to it, a signal wire (power) and a ground wire. I don't know if anything else would be in the circuit. On older cars, it would have been a simple duty cycle solenoid-anytime the engine was running, the purge system was on.

Condition
Some customers whose vehicles are operated in dusty type environments, such as farming or mining off-road type applications, may comment about the illumination of the instrument panel SES light, with a DTC of P0446 (Restricted/Blocked EVAP Vent Path) being set.

Cause
Dirt and dust intrusion into the EVAP canister vent solenoid, resulting in restricted air flow, may cause this condition.

Correction
DO THIS: Replace the EVAP vent solenoid with a more robust vent solenoid.

DON'T DO THIS: DO NOT Replace the EVAP canister or other EVAP parts.

After following the Service Manual diagnostic P0446 and determining that the EVAP canister vent valve is the cause of the SES light, replace the existing EVAP canister vent solenoid and bracket. This new vent solenoid has an enhanced filtering capability and a filter element that can be easily removed and cleaned. To ensure correct installation, follow the procedure below.

Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
Remove the bolt retaining the vent valve bracket.
Disconnect the electrical connector.
Disconnect the canister vent valve hose.
Install the new vent valve bracket, P/N 15105605, to the vehicle with the retaining bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bracket mounting bolt to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

Install the new vent valve, P/N 10382105, to the bracket.
Reinstall the electrical connector.
Reinstall the canister vent valve hose.
Lower the vehicle.
Clear the DTC.
