Question about 1999 Chevrolet Blazer

Open Question

BCM (Bypass Module) on 1999 Blazer

I am trying to access the BCM (bypass module)on my 1999 Chevy Blazer. I have removed the lower part of dash, but haven't found it get. Think I will have to remove the middle floor console to get access to it. The console includes a storage area, cup holder, change holder and the frame around a built in cassette player. I have removed the screws on top of the storage area and have also removed the bolts beneath the storage compartment. I do not see any visible screws on the end near the cassette player. I have lifted the storage end of the console over the bolts and tried sliding the console toward the cassette player to release it, but there must be some sort of catch underneath that I cannot see holding it in place. What am I missing? Can you tell me how to get the console off?

SOURCE: Ignition Module Replacement for 1989 Chevy Celebrity 2.8 V6

First of all, number your wires before you pull them off. Pull the wires off, unplug the module. (You need a deep well swivel socket to get to the bolts). Also, make sure your battery cable is disconnected - being close to the starter wires. It's easier to get to from under the car. Make sure you use jack stands and be extra careful. Hope this helps. SOURCE: 2006 uplander. How do you remove the lower center

i had to remove this due to my wife pushing the center cup holder off of the track. to remove it you need to remove both side panels of the console. you can do this by pulling on the sides, they have clips holding them. i also had to unscrew the front of the console door to gain access. take your time and dont pull too hard and you should be able to get it. before doing that, try reaching your hand around the back of the console to see if you can reach. it is hollow back there. good luck

The factory radio in the car is an integral part of the BCM (body control module) system. Changing it will result in the inability of the BCM to function properly.

Where is my ecm located? I want to bypass the VATS.

vats can be bypassed by locating wires from key lock cylinder under dash. this is common problem with this type of system. you must determine resistence valu of key resister and cut wires ind solder replacement to ends of wires that go to vats module which is seperate from ecm module.
