Question about 1999 Chevrolet Blazer
I am trying to access the BCM (bypass module)on my 1999 Chevy Blazer. I have removed the lower part of dash, but haven't found it get. Think I will have to remove the middle floor console to get access to it. The console includes a storage area, cup holder, change holder and the frame around a built in cassette player. I have removed the screws on top of the storage area and have also removed the bolts beneath the storage compartment. I do not see any visible screws on the end near the cassette player. I have lifted the storage end of the console over the bolts and tried sliding the console toward the cassette player to release it, but there must be some sort of catch underneath that I cannot see holding it in place. What am I missing? Can you tell me how to get the console off?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

First of all, number your wires before you pull them off. Pull the wires off, unplug the module. (You need a deep well swivel socket to get to the bolts). Also, make sure your battery cable is disconnected - being close to the starter wires. It's easier to get to from under the car. Make sure you use jack stands and be extra careful. Hope this helps. i had to remove this due to my wife pushing the center cup holder off of the track. to remove it you need to remove both side panels of the console. you can do this by pulling on the sides, they have clips holding them. i also had to unscrew the front of the console door to gain access. take your time and dont pull too hard and you should be able to get it. before doing that, try reaching your hand around the back of the console to see if you can reach. it is hollow back there. good luck

I would assume,you would have a complete
selection of Metric Tools, if you plan on working
on any vehicle from 1980 on
You need open/box combo wrenches
