Question about 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

I have an 03 trailblazer and we have just replaced 4 coil packs, and also a cam position sensor. When I start it in the morning it runs extremely rough. It sounds like a cylinder is misfiring. Upon take off it has no power and will stall out it was mostly doing this when I turned a corner but it is happeing more often. It usually runs fine after it has been running for a bit. However, it did sit for about 7 hours at my work and even though it had been run in the morning it ran rough and was under power and stalled on me. Any ideas???

IF there are no CEL's, remove fuses #10 and #28. Remove your throttle body and clean it with sensor safe spray like Seafoam. Can reuse the plastic O-ring. After clean, reinstall fuses and drive around for several miles so the computer can relearn.

Sounds like it needs spark plugs and wires, and a fuel system treatment.

The cylinders are numbered as on the spark pack you changed. You might have done better putting the seafoam in the tank as an injector cleaner. Not sure why you changed so many parts, you seem to know how to get the codes from test connector lead hookup and the blink pattern. You might also want to check the fuel rail pressure and the crank and cam angle sensors. Before replacing the injector, swap the #4 injector with the adjacent one and see it the code moves with the injector or stays put. If the code stays on #4, then check the injector wiring, if it moves clean or replace the injector.

the problem you are discribing would lead me to belive your fuel filter is clogged which is a simple fix 3 dollar part at any part store or on the worse hand your fuel pump itself could be weak you can open the gas tank cover and have another person turn the truck key to the on position without going far enough to start you will hear a faint whining noise if it is going bad or a louder noise if it is fine Good Luck

Your NOT diagnosing anything like the cylinder
misfires, because you don't have OBD2 System
knowledge or the proper professional tools to work
on it, or Chevy Trailblazer Powertrain experience

sure, sounds like he knows his way around the engine. Does he have a multi-meter? What I would do is check the injectors and ignition coils to see if they are getting AC voltage while you are cranking the engine. This will tell us if the problem is fire or fuel. We can then go from there.

These have a magnet on the cam sprocket, these magnets tend to fall out of the little plastic retainer. If the coil pack is good, and the ignition module good then it will prob. be the cam sensor pick up magnet. Unfortunately the timing cover will need to come off in order to access the gear. While all of this removed might as well replace the timing chain. Before tearing all this down have someone diag it to check the pulse width of the cam sensor, if you have no pulse then the magnet fell out. You may further verify by pulling the cam sensor and turning the engine until you can see the magnet or where it supposed to be, through the hole where the cam sensor goes.

If you have no spark on the coil pack for these cylinders, try scanning the car to see if you get codes for a camshaft positioning sensor or crankshaft positioning sensor.
