The seat belt on my 1987 Chevrolet S10 locks before its fully out

The seat belt starts to come out a little ways, but when it's about four inches out, it locks. How can I fix it so i can bring the seat belt out all the way without it locking, and still have the seat belt function normally?

There are two knobs on the bottom of the seatbelt base. they are on either side of the plastic base. If you jam something in the middle of those two stops between your floorboard and base of seatbelt holder it will work perfectly!!

2008 chevy uplander seat belt wont retract how do i fix it

Please check if your seat belt has "Retractors" or "Automatic Retractor".

Follow these steps to determine if you have a retractor system that will hold car seat securely or your seat belt won't retract as should be:

A. Pull belt all the way out.

b. Allow belt to retract about 6 inches (15 cm).

c. Pull out on belt again.

If belt is locked and you cannot pull the belt out any further, you have an Automatic Locking;

If you pull the belt again all the way out and won't return to normal operation, then the mechanism is damaged, but try first the "retractor" lock to be sure. By Federal Law, nobody will sale a seat belt in a junk yard, try the dealer or order thru the dealer the whole seat belt or the mechanism. I hope that is just a matter of the automatic retractor; you can see this information in your car's manual. Try and we will see.

Need to remove oil pan on 1987 chevy s10 2.8l 4x4 four speed

in order to get the oil pan off of a 4 w/d model the front axle assy must be removed first then oil pan removal is straight forward after that. cv axles can be left in just need to take out the 6 bolts on each one drain oil out remove the cable engagement on the bottom wire plug and 4 mounting bolts. rotate assy to remove it. the other way is to remove the engine. take your pick.

87 Grand Am Seat Belt Locked

If your seat belt is in the door, start slamming your door after you are inside the car and this will activate the tensioner that holds the seat belt in place. This will not always work ,just cross your fingers.

Replace belt on Chevy S10 pickup

Put a 15mm wrench on the tensionor pulley center bolt, release tension and hold, remove belt. Tensionor is spring loaded and should move freely with a fairly good amount of tension so be carefull not to pinch fingers and make sure to use the boxed end of the wrench, keep it squarely and fully seated on the bolt at all times.
