There is NO throttle position sensor on a diesel because there is no throttle body or throttle plate. I'm guessing however that you are looking for the TPS because you got a trouble code that said something to the effect of "Throttle Position Sensor Out Of Range" or something like that. I had the same trouble code, I'm still trying to figure it out, it has sense somehow caused by a/c compressor to stop turning. Maybe unrelated, but it sure seems to be.

I had the same code on my 2001 dodge 2500. The truck wouldn't shift from 3-4. I pulled the trans pan off and replaced a broken spring ($2.00). It is behind a thin plate with 3-4 small torq screws. You don't have to remove the valvebody. Only took me 45 minutes to fix.
I would like to give thanks to Jeff Russel from Teal automotive. He said this is a very common problem. He sells any part for any automatic Transmision and his prices are very affordable.
Here is a link to the website.
Hope this helps.

The wastegate is a valve that regulates the ammount of boost that you turbocharger produces. The wastegate opens to release boost pressure.
This valve is electronicly controlled based on inputs to the onboard computer.
