My 97 accord lx has a slight oil leak but the oil level us still fine. What could it be?

Are you sure it is oil...could possibly be power steering or trans leak...or could be a slight leak at the rear main seal...have it checked for any blowback...or maybe its just over full which can cause a seal to blow out...let me know if any of this has helped

SOURCE: Leaking oil from distributor (small amount of oil)

Is it leaking arond it? Replace oring seal. Is it leaking from where the cap seals the the distributor? Replace the distributor.

A dark red or burgundy color fluid most likely means you have a transmission fluid leak.

Warm you car up for 5-10 minutes and check your transmission fluid level while it's running and you will likely find it to be low.

SOURCE: oil leak thru distributoron my 1994 honda accord lx.

you can buy a distributor o-ring seal real cheap at any honda dealer and they will most likey have it in stock as this is a common leak area. all you need to do is remove the 3 8mm bolts holding the distributor cover and wires-move out of the way. then you have 3 12mm bolts holding the dist to the engine head. it only goes back in one way. hope this helps you

There is a seal where the distrubutor is you have to mark the distrubutor and then remove it replace the seal and reinstall the distrubutor.

You have a small oil leak. Look underneith the car for the general location of the leak. Over time your oil lvl will drop, guarenteed.

Slight oil leak (not back) onto the shaft. what could cause this? no warnings have gone off and all oil levels are fine


Its your noutral safty switch,as your oil leak goese thats your front seal try putting one half spoonfull of break fluid in your oil.It will make it soften up.

Ive got a water leak under back seat. 97 honda accord lx.


yes there are seams. will require removeing some interior panels but check the sealant between the body panel and the rear inner wheel well bet youy find a leak in that area

check your v-tec solenoidgasket mine was doing same thing it will not leak alot unless your driving it a high rate of speed and u will dump oil and not even notice it..
