SOURCE: my ignition went bad, i
What year car? make and model? What is exactly happening? Be specific. Is the lock cylinder not turning? does it turn with no response from starter? Is the security light illuminated on your dash when you turn your key forward? Let me know. I might be able to help you. Oh ya... Do you have a little black chip on your key? or does it say PK3 or something similar to that on the key shaft?

I have had this happen on my 98 Voyager. Just have a new key cut. This new key will sometimes cure the problem. The older keys get worn out and won't unlock the ignition. Try this before a much more expensive and time consuming change of the ignition.
