Check that the power cord is snug in the back of the unit and into the wall. Also verify that the outlet has power leading to it (by plugging something else in that you know works). If there is no power to the outlet you could have blown a breaker. Check your breaker panel and reset. If all those checks fail it could be an internal fuse or bad board. You'll need to bring it to a repair shop in that case unless you're familiar with troubleshooting electronics.

If all power is lost is there a backup system in,place ?. if felon wants to gain access and cuts a power cable to a camera you wont get a warning.

didnt specify system --generic answer--you would need to check your system some security systems have a battery back up like emergency lighting but if you have a basic hard wire system most dont unless you add it and as to someone cutting power to get a power failure warning you would need to check with the system design or add-ons [pay extra ]

My 1991 jeep cherokee has a security system in it

You're going to have to essentially reinstall the system enough to figure out what's causing the no start issue. Is it a no power at all issue, a no crank issue, or a cranks but won't start problem.?

Alarms can completely cut power off to the key, cut power to the starter, or cut power to the ignition. You need to figure out what this system did. Maybe you can Google it and find out how it works or take it to a car alarm shop and see if they can tell you.

Most likely what has happened is when you removed the alarm you left some wires or removed some wires that ran power through the alarm box and then to whatever it was cutting power off to. Usually the main power to that flows to the key.

Good Luck!

Its turning over strong but wont crank

As with any no start issue, you will need to figure out if it is caused by no spark or no fuel to the injectors, or no compression to proceed.
