SOURCE: oil filter in civic 97

If you go to a reputable motor factor,
you can only be sold the correct filter for the civic.
As there are soo many variables in engine type, it's almost impossible to tell, oil volume, or which type filter.
However, I will say, be sure that you don't mix semi-synthetic oil, and mineral oil.
Oil changes should be undertaken every 30,000 miles, (unless under extra work load, (in which case, slightly more regularly))

Otherwise, 10/40 or 15/40 grade oil, is perfectly fine.
The trick to not overfilling the oil, is simply just to take your time, clean the dip stick and retry, until you have the correct reading.

Please don't forget to rate:)

Hi, I have a steal stopper alarm which came with my honda civic 97, I changed the battery and now the alarm wont work. How do I reset the alarm. When I re-connected the battery the alarm chirps but does...

there might be a hidden switch under your ood or dash that you need to push to before doing any electrical work like on mine. If you dont push that switch it could short circuit your system. I would find that switch and try to reset it by pushing it in and then back out.

Lost remote to alarm on 1996 honda civic need to change battery

I had this happen today and called an alarm installer. he said to connect the battery cable (id unhooked it to stop the blaring) then open the door to set off the alarm. then torn on the key ( even tho it wont start the car , turn it on anyway) then look for a toggle switch ( AKA a valet switch) with the key in the on position flip the switch. ( when I did this a noticed a tiny red light come on to the left of the steering column) I turned the toggle back to the original position and then I tried to crank -AND IT CRANKED WITH NO SCREAMING ALARM!!! I was so happy, I had to post this in case it could help someone else.
