Question about Volkswagen Jetta
I have a 1990 Volkswagen Jetta GL 1.8L 5 speed. I was driving down the highway one day, and it is just turned off on me. I couldn't pop start it or turn the key to start it. I have replaced the Cap and Rotor, spark plug wires, igniton coil, Ignition control module. Nothing seems to get the car started. I have no idea, any suggestions?
Your cam belt could have broken if it has you may need a new engine

Testimonial: "I had it running after we replaced the ignition coil, and then it wouldn't start again. I pop started it and it started for about 5 seconds. and then i had it running for a good 10 to 20 minutes. Tried going home, and once on the high way, it started acting up again. "

SOURCE: Car won't start
Did you put a multimeter on the coil and check for voltage coming out of the coil? To do this put the ground lead of the meter on the battery ground, then turn the ignition on and touch the positive lead of the meter to the coil. It should read around 12 volts.

if the basics have been done check the timing, i have seen a few of these cars the camshaft breaks, quick way is just do a compression check on each cylinder, check for fuel pressure and enough spark is coming out of the coil.

crankshaft sensor, or computer on toyotas then it was usually the distributor or the computer, but the crankshaft sensor might be bad too thats what helps to get you spark.
