XLE. Why is no gas coming out from fuel injector?

Unless such a switch is an aftermarket fitment I think it is unlikely your car is fitted with a manual fuel pump isolator switch though it is possible it might be fitted with an inertia fuel pump cut-off switch.

Such switches have proved to be very reliable and unlikely to be faulty and unlikely to need resetting unless the car has suffered an impact or been involved in a collision.

If the car is fitted with such a switch the location will be found in the vehicle handbook.

In the absence of a collision causing the switch to trip it is probable another fault is causing your problem - fuse, fuel pump relay, fuel pump, crankshaft sensor...

2002 x5 rear end collision car will not crank over

My recommendation is to look for the Fuel Pump trip switch and reset it.

During a collision a sensor is able to sense impact and trip so fuel is not pump any longer.

With the car in the on but not running position see if you can hear the fuel pump.

If you can then the car has other issues.

Hope this helps

Won't start

Some cars have an inertial shut-off switch for the electric fuel pump. That switch is sensitive to impact and is designed to shut off the fuel pump in case of collision.

Where is the reset button for the emergency shut off valve for the gas line

RESETTING THE FUEL PUMP SHUT-OFF SWITCH
After a collision, if the engine cranks but does not start, the fuel pump shut-off switch may have been activated. The shut-off switch is a device intended to stop the electric fuel pump when your vehicle has been involved in a substantial jolt.

If your vehicle is a sedan, the fuel pump shut-off switch is located on the right side of the trunk behind the trunk liner.

If your vehicle is a wagon, the fuel pump shut-off switch is located behind the service panel on the right side of the cargo area.

Use the following procedure to reset the fuel pump shut-off switch.
1. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
2. Check the fuel system for leaks.
3. If no fuel leak is apparent, reset the fuel pump shut-off switch by pushing in on the reset button.
4. Turn the ignition to the ON position. Pause for a few seconds and return the key to the OFF position.
5. Make a further check for leaks in the fuel system

If the Engine Cranks but Does Not Start or Does Not Start After a Collision Fuel Pump Shut-off Switch if the engine cranks but does not start or does not start after a collision, the fuel pump shut-off switch may have been triggered. 1996 ford escort died when i was driving right after i went over a small pot hole and will not start. It was low on gas..could iy be the fuel filter

Ford vehicles are equipped with a fuel pump cut off switch that will shut power to the fuel pump in the event of a collision. By hitting the pothole, there was probably enough "force" making the switch mistakenly shut off the fuel pump. The switch should be located in the trunk either on the left or right side. Locate the switch and press the reset button. If it clicks when pressed, then the switch was activated. Try starting the car. If it starts, then that was the problem. I own a 1997 Ford Escort and the same thing happened to me...the pothole caused enough "force" thereby the switch took it as an impact. I hope this helps you out.

After a minor impact on my passengers side door my 02 Ford Focus will turn over but not start

Hi Mackenzie_me,
There is an inertia switch on this car. When there is a big enough impact, the switch will open up to shut down the fuel pump. This switch is located on the panel on the base of the "A" pillar on the passenger side. Or the panel where the right foot of your front passenger would be. You will see a small cut out that will allow you to push the reset button. Give this a try,let me know how it turns out. Chuck
