I have a 0340 code for my cam shaft

Well code 340 means the cam sensor is not working correctly. The engine computer is not getting the signal it expects.
The sensor and the wiring would need to be tested.

I have a 03 dakota I did a 5.9 swap from a 3.9 I finally finished I have the 03 pcm and harness It will start for 5 seconds then shuts down has a 0340 and 1686 code any suggestions?

the 1686 isnt a ford code but the 0340 is the cam position sensor may be a wiring fault or the sensor its self ,gives you a starting point as this would give the symptoms you describe

Chevrolet Aveo 2004 Error code 0340

This indicates that a problem was detected in the camshaft position sensor circuit. Since it says circuit, that means the problem could lie in any part of the circuit - the sensor itself, the wiring, or the ECM if this was helpful please leave good feed back

P 0340 i changed it and it still wont start

The code is for the cam sensor, but it does not always mean the sensor is defective.
It means the computer is not getting a signal from the sensor.
Causes can include wiring problems between the sensor and the computer, and mechanical problems with the camshaft or timing belt.

Need to know what dodge codes P0325, P0344 & P0340 mean

0325 knock sensor
0344 cam position sensor intermittent
0340 cam position sensor failure

I would replace the cam position sensor from the codes you provided. The knock sensor
would most likely be related to the sensor failure.

Code p 0457 and code p 0340 what do these codes mean?

Code P0457 is an Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected. Often this code can be triggered by a fuel cap that is not installed properly. It can also be cause by a bad EVAP control solenoid. Inspect the fuel lines and hoses to make sure there are no cuts/breaks etc. If the fuel cap is good then you'll have to replace the EVAP solenoid.

Code P0340 is a bad camshaft position sensor in bank 1. You'll need to replace that in order to clear the code.

My 07 pt cruzer engine light is on so i did the off on off on and the code that came up was p 0340. what does that code mean?

Try the dealer, call the service department for a correct answer. It probably is just the pre-programmed normal engine check for the catylic converter. These lights usally go on about 50K miles, then it makes you panic and send it to the dealer. He then flips a little switch under the dash to make it go out until the next 50K miles goes by, then he checks the converter for clogging or such and then charges you. Without knowing the code meaning, this is what I would suspect it to be.

Car Stalls at low speed. Restarts. DTC Code 0340 and 1167

The codes you provided indicate separate issues. Code 1167 is indicative of either a stuck fuel injector of the O2 sensors. Code 0340 indicates the CMP position sensor. Replacing the O2 sensors will likely clear the 1167 code assuming the fuel injectors are okay. It would be the first course of action. If there's no noticeable change in performance (i.e. stalling problem continues) then the CMP position sensor is likely your overall problem. Best of luck.
