Does Shift solenoid A&B control shifting into 5th gear on an automatic transmission?

First check the transmission MIL code , that will tell you if it is the Over Drive lock solenoid mal functioning , Do a tranny oil change with filter ,then replace fifth gear pressure solenoid , when you are there already .

Shift solenoid p0750 c

Disconnect the transmission electrical connector and see if it starts. If it does you likely have shorted shift solenoid pack, if the no start remains the wiring harness may be defective.

Why won't 2003 pontiac grand prix. shifter come out of park?

Shift - interlock system problem .
Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control System
The automatic transmission shift lock control system is a safety device that prevents an inadvertent shift out of PARK when the engine is running. The driver must press the brake pedal before moving the shift lever out of PARK position. The system consists of the following components:
• The automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid
• The automatic transmission park lock solenoid
• The automatic transmission shift lock control switch
• The transmission range switch
With the ignition in the ON position, battery voltage is supplied to the automatic transmission shift lock control switch. The circuit continues through the normally-closed switch to the automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid. The transmission range switch provides a path to ground for the automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid in the PARK position. With the automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid energized the shift lever is mechanically locked in the PARK position. When the driver presses the brake pedal, the contacts in the automatic transmission shift lock control switch open, de-energizing the automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid. This allows the shift lever to move from the PARK position. When the shift lever is out of the PARK position the controlled ground contacts in the transmission range switch open. This prevents the automatic transmission shift lock solenoid from energizing when the vehicle is out of the PARK position.

Where is the shift solenoid on a 2003 vibe

There are more than one shift solenoids and depending on which transmission you have makes a difference as to how many there are as well. You either have the MU4 or MU5 transmission. In any case the shift solenoids are located on the valve body and the valve body will need to be removed in order to remove them. If you happen to be talking about the shift interlock solenoid which some call just the shift solenoid but actually it's a module. In any case below is a picture and I have marked the location of the shift interlock solenoid just in case that's what you were talking about. If you need help on the other solenoids like instructions on how to get to and remove them, feel free to email me directly at csautomotivecars@att.net with all your information and I'll be more than happy to help with instructions and pictures. No there is no cost to you if you need that information. I don't mind helping but will need to know which transmission you have. Hope I was able to help.

2007 sebring shift solenoid d

Hi there:
DTC P0765 - Shift Solenoid D MalfunctionThe shift solenoid is located inside the valve body, the solenoids are replaced as a pack not individually. see below...

2_23_2012_1_58_55_pm.gif

When any electrical solenoid or circuit goes down, the ****** will still have the default gears of reverse, and second gear. You could unplug all the wires from any automatic ******, and you will still have the default, or ''limp in'' gears , to get you home or to the garage. If you have no forward or reverse, then you have a major internal ****** problem.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

GETTING A CODE P0768

Hi there,

If you have correctly retrieved this code, then this relates to your transmission:

Code P0768 = Shift Solenoid D Electrical

Shift solenoids are responsible for the shifting behaviour of your transmission. This code has been triggered due to an 'out of spec' condition of this particular solenoid.

These solenoids can usually be "tapped into" (operated/tested remotely) using the manufacturer's factory scan tool, without removing or dismantling of the transmission.

I recommend you have this solenoid inspected and if definately out of spec, then the transmission fluid should be drained, trans sump cover removed and the Solenoid D 'resistance' measured.

The solenoids can usually be replaced when the sump is removed (transmission still in vehicle).

Hope this helps....

Cheers,

2. DOC
3. OD (Over Drive)
4. 2nd
5. UD (Under Drive)

All are located inside the transaxel (inside) attached to the valved body
