SOURCE: ac blows hot air
check your air diverter doors, sounds like the door for heat is open, when a/c is selected the doors should move and close the heater off. the heater will over power the a/c. the door controller is located on the environmental station under the dash neat to the floor. the control is electronic and probably not functioning

Testimonial: "Changed compressor and cool as can be in Arizona"
SOURCE: ac is blowing hot air from vents
This job requires special tools and special training. If you lack either, you risk SERIOUS personal injury. Injury comes VERY EASILY!
You need to address oil levels, proper and legal refrigerant recovery, system evacuation, and recharge.
You were planning to also replace the receiver/dryer, correct? It also needs the oil in it measured and incorporated into the amount of oil (in %) that would need to be added. FAILURE to address these and other issues will guarantee premature system failure and likely compressor damage.
Take this job to a qualified shop.

sounds like your temp door might be broken or the motor that moves it might be bad,its behind the glove box, pull the glove box down and turn the temp knob and take a look at the motor and see if it is turning,if it is, you need to have the temp door replaced, hope this helps

Sounds like your blend door actuator is not functioning.
It probably has a broken arm which moves the door to allow cold and or hot air.
Do some research on how to fix it.
You may have to remove the dash.
You will need much patience.
I wish you well.
